“Just a park....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 May 2012 NEW

We were there this past weekend and well it's a decent park, the employees are great, chuck wagon pancakes are good, the pool is nice. But the park could use some sprucing up. I expected to have a view of the creek, but the weeds and 3 ft of grass was blocking it, our site had no grass and was full of ants. I would not return. It's a good place to be if you need to be in the city but be aware the area is not the nicest.

“Exceeded our expectations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2012

Alamo KOA in San Antonio exceeded our expectations based on some reviews. The staff was extremely friendly and allowed us an 8AM early checkin so that we could attend a webinar for work. Not only did they allow the early checkin, but were prepared for our arrival and made fast business of checkin so we could make the meeting. On the way to the site, we filled up on propane and were driven to our site via golf cart. Our site was a pull through, full-hook up site. The free wifi was usable, the site was treed and offered a picnic table on a paver patio and a grill. We only stayed 2 nights; however, we enjoyed the pool the public bus transportation to the Riverwalk and the quiet well maintained campground. (Beware on the bus, it is $1.10/person, but the folks riding this bus might make you a bit nervous. Don't wear a bunch of jewelry or carry a fancy camera etc…) Divided by only a rope fence there is a paved walking/biking path that goes for miles. They have a little store on site where I purchased a cowboy hat, but we did not utilize the convenience station, Chuck Wagon breakfast or made to order pizza during our stay. Would highly recommend if staying in the San Antonio area.

“Be careful!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2012 via mobile

We called from the road around 2:30 in the afternoon about rv space availability late that evening. They said we should reserve a spot right then. We called again before their office closed to tell them we couldn't make it in time. They said they needed 24 hours notice and charged us full price, anyway.

“Not bad for a campground, mainly for RV's, great for traveling on a dime.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 May 2012 via mobile

We stayed in a Kabin and it was great for what it was. Bring your own linens, walk to clean showers and bathroom, charcoal grill outside and a porchswing. There's no firepit. The property is along a creek and surrounded by trees, it's one of the prettier KOAs and doesnt resemble a parking lot like many RV parks. It's gated and you need a gate code to enter after 10, there's a guard at the entrance so it's safe. It's near an event center, so you may run into traffic getting back if you are there on the weekends. It's mainly used for RV's, I wouldn't tent camp here though, but I'd rent cabins again for sure. It's a great place if you're traveling on the dime and not expecting luxury. It is about 20 minutes to the Riverwalk.

“One of the best rv parks I've been in”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 March 2012

This was my first time at a KOA campground. I found the staff at the park to be very courteous and helpful for the 2 days we were there. The main baths were some of the cleanest and best maintained I have seen. The instructions on locations were very good. The only gripe I might have was the WIFI was an on and off again thing and the speed was poor. Other than that I would stay again with no second thoughts about reserving.
