I booked this hotel for a 4 night stay for business. First thing was that the room was very dark, not brightly lite. After the first night, I awoke with what I thought was a rash on my side and back, and did not think much about it. After the second night, I had the rash on the side of my neck, but now I could discern the rash on my side and back were actually bites--much like groupings of mesquito bites. I suspected bed bugs, so I went and purchased a magnifying glass. While I did not find any bed bugs (didn't really know the best places to look), on the sheets were small dark blotches that after looking at pictures on the internet, was indeed excrement from the bed bugs. I also found a bunch of hair on the sheets that was not mine, so evidently the sheets had not been washed prior to me checking in and god knows for how long. They moved me to another room, which I would not have taken if I had been able to find another place to say. Later I talked to the manager after I returned home, and she said they had the room checked by an exterminator and could not find any bed bugs. I believe this to be a cover up. I had not traveled anywhere for about 4 months and the bites did not appear until I had stayed there, so something definently bit me. They did refund my 3 nights stay, but I wanted them to pay for replacing my luggage and pay for having my clothes and car cleaned which they refused. I have filed a complaint with the corporate office and I will see what they say, but definently stay away from the hotel. One other thing is that when I complained initially about the bed bugs, they said they had not had any complaints here, but a couple of blocks away at another Holdiay Inn, there was a bed bug infestation.

Never stay here. It's in a sketchy area and hotels closer to the riverwalk are nicer and similar in price. Our story began with hair and dirt on the bedsheets. The head of housecleaning came up and said he'd get someone to clean it, naive as I was we went to dinner and returned to a bed that had just been remade with the hairs and dirt inside. The front desk was unhelpful. My only good comment is they refunded our money even though we left at 10pm.

This Holiday Inn, made me feel at home, when I was away from home. The ladies (and gentlemen) at the front desk where very helpful, if it was for a suggestion for a place to eat, places to check out, or someone to listen to your stories. They had answers and ideas for everything! I was at the desk when there were some "un-happy" customers, and the way that the staff handled it was amazing (Giselle!!). Its location was maybe 2-3 blocks south of the downtown area, but great to catch the 35. The hotel provides a shuttle bus service to bring you and pick you up anywhere within the downtown area. Steve the driver that I had was very helpful, with directions, and he went above and beyond to help me find my way around, when I had to drive around. This service was great for me because at the end of a day of walking around and getting around by myself, it was nice to be driven around. Overall, if i was planning on travelling to this area, i would stay here rather than at the 4star hotel I stayed at earlier.

it seems from reviews that there are two different Holiday express ins near the river walk the best one by far is on Cameron street it used to be an old Jail and it is an historic building . The management and staff are top rate on a previous stay on the same day as the reservation I canceled and they even refunded my points that I use to pay for the room with only two hrs notice to the this is where you want to stay a comfortable walk to the river walk breakfast is standard Holiday express fare room very nice and clean and quiet.
