We read the reviews, good and bad, for several hotels in San Antonio. There are a few complaints written about the Drury Inn & Suites Riverwalk. Granted, the carpets are old, show wear and are a bit dingy, but we weren't sleeping on the carpets! The room was large enough for three adults. My daughters and I were very pleased with the beds, the bath was small, but there again, we weren't here to spend the day in the bathroom. The desk with free wifi was perfect for us, we uploaded dozens of pictures taken from our balcony and the Riverwalk. The mini fridge held our drinks and the desk had room for our snacks as well. We were greeted by Amanda at the front desk, she was wonderful, helpful and very courteous. Anything we needed the staff made sure we had. The 5:30 get-together in the lobby was nice enough. We probably got in too late to get fresh food, it was "bar snack" things, don't expect a dinner, but it was enough to tide us over after a long drive. We would recommend this hotel to anyone that isn't completely picky or stuck up about "older" hotels. The price was very reasonable for a splurge get-away. The hallways are odd, but it adds to the charm. Blew it when I wanted pictures of the night skyline tho, I waited too long and couldn't get outside. That was my bad, if you want great pictures of the old buildings lit up all around, go out to the pool before 10. The views are super. The pool was clean, the area around it well set up for friends to hang out together.
