Dont ever stay here. My family stayed here for a weekend. We rented 20 rooms and now we are all being treated for scabies. My son & I have the worst case. Last year we stayed here also in the same room even with no issues but this year was horrible. My sister in laws room was dirty with mold stains in the bathroom, my brother in law had fece stains on his bath towels and all 4 people that were in my room 301 are being treated for scabies Really, hoe the hell do you go away for a weekend family retreat and end up covered with discusting mites? I will never take my family & freind to this place again. Aside from the filth we watched at least 3 prostitues switching room on saturday night, maybe thats why you check in on Friday night perfectly fine & check out Sunday with scabies. I have totally spread the word about this place & would never suggest anyone stay there. I should sent all of our medical bills here for reimbersment.

In the 20 years I have rented hotels, i have NEVER written a review!! Everyone should be warned of this atrocious place!! We went on the spur of the moment and met some friends who were visiting a family member. The family member lived close by this dump!! MY friend had ck'd a couple of other hotels and they were booked. Sorry for us the HomeGate Studios had 2 rooms available! CK'D in the hotel about 8 pm on a friday night.....walked into that room and wanted to VOMMIT!!! The stench was overpowering!! They had a freaking tube tv!! The carpet was disgusting and oh God...The bathroom was the most disgusting thing I had ever seen!! The bathtub had a hole in it & instead of the owner buying a new one....he has his handyman, put some sort of tape on it and paint over it!!! (Oh...and the owner/manager drives an Escalade w/i say about $3000 wheels) I wanted to cry!! The ac went out about 3 am.... I called the front dest and of course they couldn't do anything about it. I called around to see if I could find another hotel...to no avail!! I did ask if i could ck out saturday morning and not be charged since i hadn't booked online...they said my cc would be charged anyways.We slept fully clothed...I didnt want my skin touching anymore than it had to in that dump! Needless to say all of our clothes stayed in our bags! The ironing board cover was disgusting & the blowdryer kept cutting on/off. Had it just been my husband & I, we would have stayed in our car under a bridge with the homeless!!....stay away!!! Upon cking out, I noticed 2 plaques hanging on the wall that said, Triple aaa rating! I asked the clerk what that meant. Get this she said "quality & excellence"...haaaaa.....whoever awarded them that have lost their senses of smell and sight!!! & are idiots. That dumped charged me $159/night! what a waste of money!! stay away....stay away...stay away, you have been warned!

Spent 4 nights with 3 other people (which included the weekend). Price was great! Location is northwest SA and surrounded by businesses and their parking lots (which felt very safe and was actually quiet). Manager was neither friendly nor rude...just there. Office closed at 8pm and opened back up in the morning for breakfast (which was bare minimum: waffles you make, glazed doughnuts, juice, coffee, dry cereal, oatmeal packets). Pool and hottub looked small but clean. Housekeeping came every day. Room was clean enough with sofabed, 2 double beds, kitchenette with 2 microwaves (1 didn't work), small fridge, 2 burner stove, sink and dining table with 2 chairs. A/c worked, cable with HBO was good. No problems and no noise. If the price is right again and I need to stay in the area, would definitely book again.

Area recommendations
Only an hour from Fredericksburg, 20 min from downtown, a few min from I-10 and not far at all from restaurants, shopping, etc...

To begin with we called the morning before checking in to see if pets were allowed. We were told there was a $50 "pet deposit" that would be refunded when we checked out. When we arrived, after I had already given the front desk my credit card information I was told that it is a nonrefundable pet fee. $50 pet fee...REALLY? The nightly rate was also higher than I was told on the phone. My family was tired and ready to rest or I would have left at that point. The rooms were dirty and I do mean DIRTY! The bathroom smelled of urine, and the kitchen area was not clean. There were only 2 towels and 1 washcloth in the room. The mattress on the bed was terrible. The rooms were not cleaned by housekeeping. The beds were made and that was it. The trash was not emptied, no vacuuming, nothing! The positives about this place were the continental breakfast and the girl who worked the front desk at night was very nice. This is my first time ever to write a review but felt compelled to share my experience so that others can avoid this dump. We are at another motel tonight that is $20 a night cheaper, $10 pet fee and a whole lot nicer.
