Easy to find, parking wasn't an issue and received a first floor (2nd in US speak) room at the end of the balcony. Locks worked, shower pressure good and room clean. I was a bit tired after the days drive and rocking at Huey Lewis at the Majestic so I slept very well. Check in was helpful and friendly, the site has security overnight if you need to know.
They allowed the car to stay in the car park while I went out to see San Antonio's sights as the hotel was quiet, although I wouldn't expect this when busy. The Alamo is about 10 minutes away by foot and I didn't have any issues walking back from the bars at midnight. Its a bit dated but it was a one nighter and certainly value for money considering the location. Breakfast was typical Daybreak affair, I went for steak and eggs at the Denny's two blocks away which was really good.
Reception will give you a map and to get to Houston Street follow the smell of manure from the horse drawn carriages at the wall of the Alamo. One last thing and a highligh of San Antonio for me, if you are a blues fan, is in the Sheraton Gunter Hotel. Rooms 414 and 415, the site of Robert Johnson's Recordings - legendary. Oh and Ozzy's site of indiscretion at the cenotaph
