I always stay at Baymonts, being a member of Wyndham Rewards. This experience shakes that confidence. Upon arrival I was told that there were no king rooms available on the first floor. Okay, so they are booked, right? I accepted a change to a double and the only available room was at the end of the building. I went out to eat and when I returned there were a total of 6 cars in the parking lot. So, I guess they don't have more than 1 or 2 rooms on the ground floor that are kings - not very accommodating I'd say.The TV remote did not work - dead batteries- prompting a trip to the lobby. Not major, but annoying.
Let's talk about the room I DID get. Floor wasn't vacuumed, kinda seedy looking with a dated paint job and run-down feel. Then I went into the bathroom. Raising the toilet seat to use the faciltiies it was apparent that some previous occupant was a woman who was having her menses. NASTY to the n-th degree.
The room, for being secluded at the back of the property, was still subject to traffic noise and being very close to the ice machine there were a steady stream of guests getting ice and carrying on conversations until about 3 am. I was woken up several times.
The continental breakfast was fair: the usual coffee, juices, hardboiled eggs, pre-made toast and waffles, and some fruit.
The only good thing I can say about the room is at least it didn't have bedbugs.
Overall, I will forego the rewards points and stay somewhere else if I ever come back to San Antonio.
