Stayed here for a conference in Feb 2012. The hotel is nice enough -- fairly recent paint, carpet, bathroom fixtures, comfy bed etc. For a business trip, though, way behind the times. No wireless internet in rooms, and the wired internet is not cheap (SLOW). TV reception was awful, and the alarm clock was fine for 1995 (no iPod dock, charger, etc). Minor things but they all add up when you're on a biz trip -- these things are pretty much standard even in the second tier brands in competitors' chains (Hampton Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Hyatt Place, Marriott, etc). The staff seemed very hurried but tried to be attentive (asked my name 4 times in less than 2 minutes at checkin). The facility is HUGE -- be prepared to walk a lot from rooms to meeting halls, reception, etc. Not an issue if you're on vacation, but again as a business hotel this is not the best layout. Golf course was nice enough, they have shuttles to Fiesta Texas but this isn't where I'd stay if you're doing the touristy spots in San Antonio. Definitely out away from it all. Pools etc looked nice but it's winter so I cannot comment on how they are in peak season. Overall an OK hotel, but not quite up to "resort" standard and definitely not a good place for a business meeting.

Our goal is to help you get back to your best self so that you leave The Westin La Cantera Hill Country Resort feeling recharged and well cared for. We clearly fell short in this situation, and we are sorry that the charge for internet access was frustrating to you. The resort fee includes internet access up to 512kb, and there are additional charges for more bandwidth. For future reference, free Wi-Fi is available in Starbucks, Steinheimer’s, The Gantry and Tio’s Lobby.
We are in the process of adding Wi-Fi to all areas of the hotel, and we expect to complete the wireless upgrade in the second quarter of 2012.
