We found this hotel convenient to the Riverwalk area. We took a short "yellow route" bus trip ($1.10) to the area which includes the river and the Alamo. The buses come every 10 minutes so rather convenient and we avoided heavier parking fees. The hotel itself meets the chain's standards and the staff was friendly and helpful. Danielle at the front desk displayed excellent customer interpersonal skills and the room housekeeping was very good. Elevator area looked a little worn or needed updating. Also, some of the help seemed to walk in and out of the elevators without regard of who was coming in or out. Perhaps some customer courtesy is needed here. In total, above average hotel, excellent price value, and convenient to the area attractions.

Not bad for a very inexpensive place. It's pretty much brand new, and all the staff were very friendly and nice. The rooms were very clean! I was very impressed with the housekeeping especially for the rate! In fact I'd give housekeeping 5 stars. My first three nights it was quiet as a mouse, but on the last night I could here cell phones and people's conversations through some of the walls. There is a work out room and a pool/hot tub (although hot tub not heated well). No restaurant, but they do have snacks. Overall, 4 stars because the room itself was really nice and clean! It was a relaxing place to return to after being at a conference. Not giving 5 stars b/c of noise mostly and that the hot tub wasn't warm.

We didn't expect much since it was not a fancy hotel. However everything I need, they got it. They have free parking (70+ spots....I think), wi-fi, and breakfast. They also have an indoor swimming pool if you want to swim in the winter time. The room was clean, spacious and well insulated. It has goose down comforter so we didn't even turn on the heater while it was 40 degree outside. Most of all, I was impressed by the breakfast. I only expected hot coffee and cold bagels. But there were tasty coffee, 3 different juices, do-it-yourself waffles, hot oat meals, boiled eggs (chilled), muffins, biscuits with meet patties, yogurts, cereals, and more. I will recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay close to downtown. It took us less than 10 minutes to drive to the River Walk and the River Center Mall.

The staff was friendly, helpful and cheery and answered all of my questions.

I just booked for an overnight stay so I wouldn't have to drive home. The rooms are looking a little dingy--dim lighting and older looking carpets and walls, and the bathtub is a bit shady looking, since the floor underneath the tub gave a bit and water would pool towards the back of the tub and not drain. The tub was dry and clean when we arrived, of course! But after two days of showering it's annoying that the water just sits there.

The bedding was clean, though, and I slept great. I could hear all of the rowdy guests arriving in that night from the riverwalk because the walls blocked out very little.

This is definitely walking distance to the river, but it will be a long walk. There are of course other locations that are close to everything, but the benefit of this location is the free parking and very often low room rates.

I received a room rate that really couldn't be beat by any other location. And they did accomodate my requests that I had made on my reservation prior to arrival, I was on the highest floor with what looked to be the best view they had to offer.

Unfortunately, this location is on the rougher side of the immediate downtown area--meaning, I would not advise walking back drunk at 2am from the river unless you are from San Antonio, and familiar with the area.
