Like the title says, the staff was good and the hotel was clean, but the interior/rooms need some pretty serious updating. We'd never stayed at this particular hotel on the Riverwalk, but our regular hotel (The Westin) was full. The Crowne Plaza's rate was pretty good and we needed a pet friendly hotel so we decided to give them a shot. First of all, we were told by their reservations line that there would be ZERO charge for a pet and my email confirmation shows no pet charge either. We check in, the folks at the front desk see our dog and there is no mention of a pet charge here either. We check out and whaddya know... a $75 pet charge was added to our bill with no help by the front desk after I explain the issue. We were also told by Reservations that a roll-away would be available for our 10 year old son for a $25 additional fee. We said no problem, but were then told they could not do so because it was a fire hazard. Finally, the breakfast buffet was so-so at best. Our waiter was great, but half of the buffet options were only luke warm + the touted omlette bar was closed. If you have other options, take it. As far as location goes, it IS on the Riverwalk, but it's a good 10 minute walk from the hotel to where "the heart" of the Riverwalk is actually located. It's well lit and nice, but we would have preferred a closer location.
