I recently stayed in the Curwen house, honeymoon suite, and when I read the other reviews of travelers here I believe the decor of the rooms varies greatly. When I booked I was told I had the only room in the Curwen house during my stay, so I assumed I had the nicest room of its kind, but sounds like one reviewer here had a nicer stay in room #13. This is my main criticism - when I pressed the staff for photos or details on the room I was staying in they were of no help, even though I was given the room number (22 or 23). The room was not what I had in mind - a little worn, not very cozy, dark carpet, nowhere to sit near the fireplace, but even though they had said I could switch to another room and assured me it would be a slow time, there were no rooms with fireplaces left during my stay. I made due with the room, which was quiet, and the fireplace and jacuzzi were very nice. But just beware you may not be getting what is on the web site. They should be more upfront with photos and room details. I agree with other reviewers that the jacuzzi is for one person max - wasn't an issue for me but would be for honeymooners. Finally - just a shout out to all inn owners to start offering more gluten-free options for breakfast. This inn didn't have the yogurt they advertised, so I ate just watermelon and coffee the first day and went out to breakfast the second.
