“Should be renamed "The Clip Joint Inn"”

Where do I start? The ridiculous $180/night rate for a room that should be rented by the half hour? The four requests for extra pillows unanswered by the management? The Dunkin Donuts rechargeable cards ($3 for each night) which weren't accepted at the local Dunkin Donuts? The dim 20 Watt bulbs giving the room a funereal ambiance? Where does one start with a Salem hotel experience which I would never want to repeat?

Room Tip: Find a different hotel.

“Consumer BEWARE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

Misleading involving the distance from Salem's historic attractions and museums. Neighborhood from this Inn to the Historic area is less desirable. Photographs in brochure and on the Webb differ greatly from the actual property. The office area was dirty and the one story units had large blue tarps on the roof. The manager/owner ( Susan ) was rude, argumentative and does not belong in customer service. We refused to stay at this Inn and they refused to refund the deposit of $ 160.00 dollars for one night. Consumers, ask yourself why a hotel/motel would require a full deposit prior to your visit.? The above is your answer. Nasty area, nasty hotel and nasty staff.

Room Tip: Stay away from this one

“Had to call the cops”

this is the worst hotel, we stayed there with our guide dog and the owner tried to charge us for having the guide dog, when we showed her the A.D.A. Laws and explained to her that she could not charge us extra for the guide dog, she became abusive and rude. She said that she did not believie that the A.D.A. laws were real and that visually impaired people had any rights and that she had her own rules and was not going to listen to some stupid law. We had to call the police, I also called the Guide Dog Foundation and had them speak to her and she hung up on them. The police did explian to her that she could not charge us extra for having a guide dog. She said if the guide dog is not a pet then she would charge us for having an extra person in our room. The police of Salem were wonderful and once again told her she could not charge us so she threw us out. All Guide Dog Handlers be warned

“I'll be back again next year.”

Lovely motel off the beaten track. Room was huge and clean as a whistle. Lovely shaded front lawn with picnic tables where I enjoyed my morning coffee--a peaceful way to start the day. Took cabs everywhere and avoided the downtown gridlock, $20 parking fee and the need to drive around looking for a parking spot. Great innkeepers and their recommendations for dining and sightseeing were perfect.

“Not worth the money!”

This is a motel and not an Inn - very dated. Not within walking distance to downtown Salem. Overpriced. Noisy. No Breakfast.
