“Great attention to detail. Very enjoyable.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Stayed for 3 nights in February 2012 and got a conference rate of $170/night. Heard that military and govt. got a $105+$20 resort fee rate. I think the average rate is $200+. Rooms are spacious, very clean, tasteful furniture, quiet, with comfortable bed. The grounds of the resort are well maintained and are beautifully landscaped. The hotel fits in with the surrounding. I didn't golf or swim, but used the office center, conference rooms, bar, and restaurant. The staff was very friendly and resourceful. The restaurant had pretty good food when I went there for lunch. The breakfast and lunch that was included with the conference was average and the wi-fi connection was ok (sometimes rather slow, particularly in the meeting rooms, but adequate in the sleeping quarters). The location has a great view of the city or the mountains. The streets nearby weren't designed for anything but cars which is kind of a bummer as the natural beauty is awesome. Need to have a car if you plan to go anywhere outside the resort.

Room Tip: I believe the I building wouldn't see the traffic on the nearby boulevard as much as the F bldg.

“Wedding Experience at La Paloma”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with the Westin La Paloma catering and event planning staff for my wedding in April of 2011 at the Country Club. Isabel Kim and Cristina Amescua were both very attentive and went above and beyond during the planning process to make sure that the day went smoothly.

There was a bit of a mix-up with our sleeping room when we stayed at the La Paloma for my bachelorette party earlier that year, but management made up for it by comping many rooms for the wedding party during the actual wedding.

Cristina was incredible on site at the wedding! She worked very hard behind the scenes alongside my wedding planner Imelda Blanchard of Catalina Rose Events.

I would absolutely recommend having your wedding at this venue. The service, quality of food, the grounds, beautiful opportunities for photos, plentiful guest accommodations, and overall experience are all superb, and for a great value!

“High Maintenance Frequent Client”

I travel 95% of the time with my profession. I had the opportunity to stay @ this resort for more than 200 days in the last eight months.

My leisure time to include the luxiourious pools and mountainous surroundings was minimal due to work. However, the overly generous hospitality and comfort that the staff provided during my very long work days could not have made it a better selection for my home away from home stays.

My greatest appreciation is to Daniel Figueroa, Restaurant and Lounge Supervisor and the restaurant and food services team @ the resort. Several times per week I needed to speed out of the resort in a rush to get to a meeting or an early head-start on a 11-12 hour work day. Daniel worked with me and his team to allow for me to order breakfast to go, I mean a FULL breakfast to go, daily. They went over and beyond to allow me to order through guest services on weekdays and then zoom by the front desk and pick up my full breakfast at the front desk on the way out. Whether it was a fresh fruit smoothie or eggs benedict, the quality of the food was always superb!

When time did allow for such, I had the gracious company of Daniel and his staff inside the dining room, where they consistently knew me by name, catered to me without a second thought and continued to make me feel like I was among family vs on the road.

Kudos also to a front desk team member by the name of Jose. I first met Jose in the dining room, then serving at the pool, then benefited from his skills, expertise and top notch attention to detail skills @ the front desk. The resort should strive to add additional staff that can perform as diversified as Jose does!

As a business woman traveling on independent consulting assignments, it is so very rare to find the type of service that was provided by the La Paloma staff. What is really great is that the service is never patronizing but rather very sincere. I would highly recommend this resort for both business and pleasure. Please be sure to say hi to the staff there from their very "high maintenance frequent client from room 336"!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with either mountain views or golf course views. I prefer upper floor to allow for b...

“The best place to stay in Tucson for business or pleasure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

This property, and the wonderful staff, knocked my socks off. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. It was the quietest hotel room I've ever stayed in. I didn't hear any doors, people or traffic noise at all! That's a first! The hotel staff really go out of their way to help visitors in any way they can. The hotel is a haven for the weary business traveler, and ideal for families. The pool area is delightful - there are a range of attractions right on the property for the discerning guest to enjoy, with tennis and golf just steps away. But the best part of the experience is the staff - friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. You won't be disappointed! Stay here! Considering all the amenities, and the wonderful on-site restaurant and bar, it's a perfect place to stay.

Room Tip: All the rooms are great. You'll love them

“Westin La Paloma: The best place to stay in Tucson with the best staff.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I've made several trips to Tucson during the past five years and stayed at four different hotels. This was my third visit to the Westin La Paloma Resort, a ten-night stay. I always enjoy the quiet, beautiful setting, swimming pools and restaurants, but the Westin's staff is the biggest reason I will return.

Every staff member I met went out of their way to be helpful and make me feel at home. Some examples: At the front desk, Jose handled my check-in smoothly and efficiently, selecting the perfect room. Yodit Eyob and Jaime answered my many questions and arranged a very helpful late checkout. When I told Daniel Figueroa, the Supervisor at Azul restaurant, that I was in a rush, he seated me immediately and personally made sure I was waited on and received my meal and check quickly. Mario waited on me that day, and understanding my situation, was extra friendly and fast. At the excellent breakfast buffet, Martin waited on us and took care of our every need. Jordan in the Azul lounge remembered me from my last trip and greeted me like an old friend.

Above all, a special thank you to Executive Assistant to the General Manager Deb Stephenson, who went above and beyond anything I've ever experienced from a resort executive, making sure I was well taken care of in every aspect of my stay.

I'm looking forward to staying at this resort again, and I'm excited about planned upgrades to the facility.

Room Tip: Rooms in the "A" and "C" wings have beautiful views of the desert sunset.
