I travel several times a year with my hubby and two kids. My kids are pretty experienced travelers and do not require "family friendly" treatment. However, it is nice to stay at a four star deluxe hotel that is friendly to traveling families. In other words, it is just as adult friendly as it is kid friendly.

Loved the trail to the water fall. Loved the decor. Loved the staff who were approachable and genuinely tried to be helpful. We were there on April 1, which was the first day of promotion where the kids ate free at the breakfast buffet. (It was not a joke!) And because we waited a tiny bit - during which we enjoyed the decor and artwork of the hallway - all the drinks were on the house.

The check in/out, baggage assistance, concierge, etc., were all professional and helpful. It is a bit of drive from the freeway. It is not close to the city of Tucson. But it is a beautiful setting & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I must be fair I did not spend much time at the hotel but who ever designed the building should not do any more hotels. The closest parking lot to my forth floor room was on the second floor including going down a flight of stairs from the dark at night parking lot, then down a long hallway to the one elevator, up to the 4th floor then down another long hallway. I never found the stairs. Going from my room to the lobby I had to go outside which was poorly lit at nite. The lobby seemed like a nice place to stay but as a single woman traveling with heavy luggage this was a unfriendly experience.

We stay at allot of supposedly 5 star resorts that are disappointing. Everything at this hotel is rated as advertised, specatuclar spacious view suites equipped with every thing imaginable, and great porches and balconies. The restaurants are 5 star+ as well. There is a beautiful waterfall and creeks to the rear of the hotel with a walkways, very romantic at night. Service was also 5 star+ with lots of extra touches that other 5 star hotels do not have. For example there is a selection of multiple types of in-room coffee and when the maids saw that we liked a particular type, they supplied us extra of that type. There is a great hike into the nearby mountains right on the property-Ventana Canyon Trailhead. For a romantic weekend getaway this place cannot be beat!

I attended a conference at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort. The accomodations were above expectations, and the views were simply breathtaking. The atmosphere was laid back and quiet, which was perfect for our conference. The people were very friendly and helpful. i loved it - and i did not get to enjoy much of the outdoor offerings due to meetings. The Flying V restaurant offered excellent service and attention (i have food allergies, so this is important). i would gladly travel to this location again.
