“Better than expected”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We were pleasantly surprised with the spaciousness and comfort of the room (we did upgrade to a premium king room). We overlooked the pool from the fourth floor and had a lovely view of the mountains. Although the casino was smokey, we did not find that in the room. We were not told about the continental breakfast available; they should have informed us at check-in. We were surprised that there was not a restaurant open for breakfast, but the continental would have helped.

“Smokey!! Stay away.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I just returned from a two night stay at the Desert Diamond and I was quite disappointed. Although the staff was nice and the hotel looked nice, all was lost from the smell of cigarette smoke and the cold water in the shower. My room was on the third floor and even there, I could still smell the smoke. I would not stay here again.

Room Tip: Find another hotel.

“Tucson Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Even though the hotel is next to the airport, we had no problems with noise. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. The bed is very comfortable. Not much of a view from the windows - the room overlooked a trailer park. The hotel is connected to the casino, but no smoke smell was noted and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful with directions. Complimentary breakfast was decent. Definitely a hotel we would stay at again the next time we are in Tucson.

“Convenient & Comfortable”

Very convenient to the airport. Good rate for the large size room and bathroom. I liked having a door separating the toilet from the tub and sink.
Breakfast was underwhelming (donuts, frozen waffles, boiled eggs, cold cereal, yogurt, but free with our room rate and allowed us to get something in our belly before we went searching for "real food".
Nice little sandwich shop between hotel and conference center / casino. Great deals early morning and late evening. Stop and grab something to go before you catch your plane out, it beats airport food prices!
Heavy smoke in casino made me stay away. Didn't try the buffet, most of the food court items are fried.

Room Tip: We stayed on the side opposite the casino and were very pleased that room was quiet. Not much to se...

“Casino is a Health Hazard”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

The hotel is clean and fairly quiet. Large, spacious rooms. Very comfortable. Junior staff is friendly. Cons: Parking lot sweeping in the middle of the night kept me awake. Casino is filthy with cigarette smoke. Not sure why the smoking is allowed by city or state officials. You wouldn't believe it until you saw how polluted the air is. Forget the restaurants. The food tastes like cigarettes. Good experience if you avoid the casino.
