“NOW STUDENT HOUSING WITH A FEW HOTEL ROOMS”

The previous reviews must have been done before the changes. A few years ago College Place was converted to student housing but still has hotel rooms. I had my parents stay and they said the rooms were great.
I'm having a good time here. There is a good mix of fun, activities but it doesn't get out of hand. I recomment it to my friends. CP is far superior to my stay in the dorm.

“Bugs so big, you could saddle them up and go for a ride...”

I booked the hotel over the internet. It was supposed to be a 3 star. Ok, granted, already not the best, but hey, I ain't rich. I arrived later than I wanted to, so I was ready for a good night's sleep. I pulled up to the area closest to the room I had booked, and decided to go look at the room before I unpacked. Boy, am I glad I looked first! I entered the room, flipped on the light, and right there, between the TV and the bed were 3 huge bugs. No kidding, they were each the size of a large mouse! They were 'startled' due to the sudden illumination from the light, so they ran around in circles, then dashed under the bed. I screamed and tried to run out the door, but my husband was standing in the way. I practically climbed over one side of him and down the other to escape, however, when he looked down and saw what I was flipping out over, he yelled, "Oh geez!" and ran also. I immediately went to the front desk and complained. I was offered another room. I told them I'd rather sleep in my car and left. I never got the money back that I had placed to make the reservation. Even after writing letters and being promised I'd get a refund. I ended up having to ride up and down the road, looking for a room for the night. By the time I got checked into another hotel, and was able to get to bed, it was 2 AM. I had to be at the hospital the next morning by 8 AM. I ended up paying over 100.00 for a room for just a few hours of sleep. Needless to say, I spent the next 4 nights sleeping in a plastic recliner next to my husband's hospital bed. Can you say taco?

“do not go”

This was the worst hotel experience I have had. Our room was down a long hall. All of the doors to the other rooms were either boarded or padlocked with holes punched in some of the doors. Our lock did not work. We tried to move rooms but that did not work as the room we were offered was not smoke free. When they fixed the door the safety lock was not installed. the morning clerk tried but the rest of the staff at the desk had no interest in helping. We were told we were to have a real breakfast but we were lucky to have coffee and a stale roll.. I could go on about the pool etc. Just do not go.

“Fallen on Hard Times”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2004

This hotel had a spooky, deserted feel because half of it is closed down while the owners decide if they are going to make it an assisted living facility. The few remaining rooms available are unbelievably run down and poorly maintained. Ours had stained carpeting, furniture with chipped paint and cigarette burns, and a bathroom with rust stains in the tub, a cracked door, peeling paint on the walls, and stains on the tile. There was not enough hot water. You can easily do better than this in Tucson, and next time we will!

“Give yourself a treat!”

This lovely hotel with all the amenities shouldn't be Tucson's best kept secret anymore! The courtyard view from my balcony was peacefully exquisite. Loved the pool, courteous staff, etc. Can't think of a single complaint, except that I couldn't stay longer!
