“Just fine if you set your expectations at 3 you'll be pleased”

We stayed for 3 nights recently, had a 3rd floor king non-smoking. Got it on Priceline so didn't really choose it, but didn't pay a lot either. However, as my husband said, I've stayed in a lot worse for a lot more. Beds are better than average but the blankets are for hotels in Alaska! The room is attractive but dated. The most negative thing is the bathroom is unbelievably small with almost no counter space....probably o.k. for one, but for us, we had to take everything we needed out of our travel kits and then pack it away again each day. We did appreciate having the refrigerator.

Planned to go to one of our favorite restaurants the first night but just couldn't roust ourselves to leave again so ate in the restaurant here. Had the fish tacos and they were far better than average and their special $12 margarita was one of the best I've had...definitely worth the $$. Service was great there too. The restaurant is located at the back of the outdoor pool courtyard and there was a combo playing in the open party room adjacent...lovely jazz. We had a very enjoyable, relaxing time.

All in all, the goods outweighed the bads.....good service, lovely courtyard, comfy beds and needs an update.

“Not great but decent”

I stayed here for a week and it was fine for what I needed but not a hotel I would choose to vacation at with my family. It definitely shows signs of wear and lack of caring. For example, they must have changed out the shower rod at some time. They installed the new rod in a different position and left the holes from the last shower rod unfilled. The bathrooms always surprise me how SMALL they are!!! The "armoire" and drawer unit is literally falling apart due to wear. It looks and functions poorly as drawers are broken so they are tough to open. The living room area of the room is decent and it's nice to have a refrigerator. Took a glass (plastic) of wine out to the firepit by the pool to sit with friends one night and was kicked out. Even though it is in the pool area, the fire pit is considered part of the restaurant so you have to purchase wine from them. Whatever.

Room Tip: Do not get a first floor room near the metal door to the parking lot! Loud bag everytime someone le...

“Poor Service”

I stayed at the Sheraton Tucson January 13 - 15 and while there were many positives, the stay was marred by poor service by the Hotel Front Desk Manager. To be fair, I wanted to list the pros and cons. Pros - bed was very comfortable, decent breakfast, free parking, nice pool area (kids had fun). The staff at the restaurant were very nice and accommodating. Now for the cons - I requested an upgrade, which was denied, the room was very small for a suite, it was near impossible to move comfortably in the bathroom. The phones were filthy (phone cord was covered in dirt) and the main issue - the front desk manager was extremely rude. I paid $175 per night (included breakfast) but I don't believe it was worth that much. I have stayed at the Westin La Paloma (understood that it is a different category in SPG) but the experience was very different. I have been a loyal Starwood member for many years but for the first time I considered staying outside of the SPG network. Hopefully if enough people provide constructive feedback, management will consider making some much needed changes.

Room Tip: I was on the first floor, which wasn't the best but I assume rooms on a higher floor would be be...

“Don't let the renovation advertisement fool you.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

I'm not sure where they spent millions renovating this place. The room itself was acceptable but dated and in need of minor maintenance. The rest of the hotel (except the lobby) was very dated, run-down looking and dirty. The bed was comfortable enough but the sheets were stiff and crinkly and the comforter weighed about 20 lbs. The bathroom was tiny, the exhaust fan was falling out of the ceiling the faucet at the sink was leaky and we had to call maintenance to unclog the toilet. The fitness room has cardio equipment only and flat, dirty exercise balls. For the $50 Priceline deal this was all ok, but full price would have been a rip-off.

this hotel is good for the price. The property is great, with a nice jacuzzi and pool outside w courtyard, but the rooms are not quite up to par with most starwood properties.
