“Amazing!”

Loved loved loved my four nights at Miraval, from the exercise classes to the food to the spa to the experiences. Best experience was "It's Not About the Horse" with Wyatt Webb and best spa treatment was Aqua Zen. Also loved private golf lesson, hiking, yoga, meditation, water workouts, EmergenC Facial. Loved sitting in the hot tub and looking at the mountains. Will definitely return. The temporary spa is fine. Looks like permanent spa will be finished soon.

Room Tip: I liked being able to see the mountains from my patio. Deluxe room does not have tub, just FYI, but...

Hi - Thank you so much for taking the time to write. Glad to hear you enjoyed your time with Wyatt. He's a very special part of the Miraval team and has been doing the Equine Experience here since the beginning of Miraval. It sounds like your schedule here was very well-rounded - but I promise there's so much more to experience. We look forward to having you back on a return visit!
Regards,
Michael

“dont go to miraval until the spa reopens”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I have gone to miraval quite a few times and always enoyed myself until this past experience. The spa is closed for renovations and so they are using guest rooms for services. When you book appointments, they do not tel you this and i found that quite unprofessional......do not go until the spa reopens later this year. You do not get your monies worth with pools being closed-it feels more like a glorified hotel. WAIT! It is such a wonderful experience when the spa and the amenities are open.

Hi There - I'm sorry you weren't informed by your group leader or our Prebooking team of our very close to completion renovation. It is also listed on our website. Miraval would never intentionally not disclose this information and on the contrary, has been very forthcoming. In fact, the Spa Village has been hailed by our guests as you can see in many of the postings here on TripAdvisor. I have also ready your guest comment card and responded in a letter being sent to you. I wish you would have mentioned your displeasure while in house. As you know, the world-class treatments and amazing team of therapists and aestheticians is what makes the Miraval spa so special, and that has remained and will remain steadfast. I want to thank you sincerely for your loyalty to Miraval over the years. We look forward to seeing you later this year and welcome your feedback about the new spa!
Regards,
Michael

“Horrible Prebooking Experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

My company was staying at the Miraval resort. I tried to prebook some spa appointments. I called the first time for two days going through the automated system to reach the spa and everytime I called the call was disconnected before I could leave a message. Finally I called the regular reservation line and was able to book a spa appointment. The next time I tried to make an appointment for this same trip I experience the same call problem so I emailed replied to the email reservation confirmation for the first appointment that I had made. This is the response that I received:

I am sorry you were having trouble with your call. It appears you do not have an overnight reservation, is that correct? In order to have services here you must either book an overnight reservation or a day spa package. I did not find a day spa reservation for you either.
Please call if you would like to try to book a day spa. We will have to look at the availability for the dates you are interested in. A Day Spa package cost is $299.
Thank you,

Funny how I was already booked at the hotel with the rest of my company and was able to make an appoinment previously. When at the hotel I asked to speak to a manager. Leigh Ann called and left a message in my room saying she would look into it, but I never heard anything. You would think for a place that is supposed to be so mindful they would do something for the guests.

Once there the spa services were wonderful.

Room Tip: The beds were extremely comfortable.

Lori - I am so sorry to read of your disappointment and confusion with Prebooking and our response. At the time of your call our reservations systems were being switched to upgraded servers. We anticipated being off line with our hotel booking system and telephones including messages for a short while. Unfortunately, we ended up being down for nearly two days during which we lost some calls and messages. Thankfully our new server is up and working fine!

I followed through with my manager after reading her comments on your reservation tile from your interaction with her. She relayed to me that she apologized to you for the situation and told you she would investigate to make sure we did not have a serious procedural issue and thanked you for bringing it to her attention. She thought you were looking for an acknowledgement of the issue. I am sorry the loop wasn’t closed to your satisfaction.

I want to thank you for your time in completing the survey. If you would like to discuss this further I would welcome a telephone discussion. I so am pleased you enjoyed our Signature Miraval beds and world class spa services!

“Wonderful vacation -- did not want to leave”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

My husband and I stayed there for 4 wonderful days. We really relaxed. Food was healthy and very tasty. I still miss the smoothie. Each day we started with a hike. One day I did the 5 hour hike to Romero Canyon. Great!!!! The staff was also so friendly and service oriented. From the maitre d' in the restaurant (did not get his name but he was tall with a BIG smile!) to the hike guides (Ian, Leslie and Lewis YEAH!), to the pilates mat instructor to the smoothie ladies.
The hikes are a great way to start the day. Either the 2 hour hikes or the longer ones. The scenery is beautiful and boy did that PBJ sandwich taste wonderful.

Can't wait to go back...

Zena

Room Tip: spend the extra money for a room with a view -- the sunsets are gorgeous
