“Comfortable and Convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

I stayed at the Westin recently with my husband for a weekend trip. The room was ready when we checked in at 2:00pm. It was clean and cozy. The bed was very comfortable, with lots of pillows! The bathroom was clean and stocked with decent bath products. The towels were very soft and the shower had a dual-head, which felt great. It is not a luxurious hotel, so if that's what you're looking for, I wouldn't stay here. It is right in the middle of downtown, connected to the Providence Place Mall by a bridge, so in the winter, you don't even have to put on a coat to go shopping or to dinner in the many restaurants at the mall. We enjoyed our stay, and would stay again.

“A bit worn...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

The hotel itself seems a bit worn. My colleagues and I were all booked in King Bed rooms and none were available by the time we checked in. The room was fine, but he bathroom lighting was sort of industrial & there was no fan. The mini-fridge was unplugged and there were no snacks for purchase. The walls are very thin & I could hear my neighbor's every move (cough, gag, & singing in the shower too). The heavenly shower was hardly that as the pressure was just awful. Maybe it was because it was the 22nd floor and the water takes more time to travel up? In addition my door was a tad "sticky". You had to physically pull it shut with force to close. So much so that I got back from a day of meetings and housekeeping had left the door ajar. When I called down to complain they just said "noted". While the bed was comfortable I know my colleagues had issues in their rooms with the air/heat in their rooms. It was fine for business, but not somewhere I would want to pay for vacation.

“Nice Property, rooms were not Westin Standards”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

I stayed over for a night recently as a stop on the drive home and was a bit disappointed. I have a strong preference for Starwood properties (particularly Westin's) and I was left unsatisfied with this stay.

Two major points: The room quality was not that of a standard Westin. It seemed tired and the bathroom left much to be desired. In addition the thermostat was not adjustable without a call to engineering. The hallway had some clutter (a fan and mini fridge) shoved in an alcove

Second, I was not able to book my stay through SPG. I found this to be a minor inconvenience.

This all being said, the staff was very friendly and attentive. The lobby decor was welcoming as well.

“Good Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

Good Hotel more on the high side for RI. Best thing about this hotel is that its connected to the Providence Place Mall.

Room Tip: stay on the east side of the building. I found the rooms are newer

“New Years Day Getaway”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

A Westin generally offers true four star accommodations. This location has always lacked the "wow" appeal of many other Westin properties. The location is fine, close to all the restaurants and the Providence place mall. However, a missing toilet paper arm, loose sink fixtures, a pillow case that smelled of perspiration and a difficult heating/cooling thermostat(could not turn it of/on)do not make a four star property. A quiet night and a comfortable bed allowed for a restful night's sleep. Overall, a decent place to stay for a night away, just don't expect to be overly impressed.
