“Not so hidden gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012 via mobile

I heard about this place from a few friends who all raved about it when they stayed there last fall so my wife and I decided to take the short trip from the cape and do a Provi weekend. Truth is you can't really judge a book by its cover because the entry/lobby leaves a lot to be desired, but once you meander the strange blue green hallways to the room its like a whole new ball game. the room was "suite" massive amounts of room, very comfortable bed, with white tiles (only negative about the tile is you can hear every high heel above you)
Desk is real friendly food in the area is unparalleled and if given an opportunity, we'll be back.

“Great Stay & Very Accomodating”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

I've discovered this little gem last Summer and just stayed here again during Christmas vacation. This is not your ordinary hotel. These charming suites offer a personal touch that cant be found at those big chain hotels. My suite was a one bedroom with a full kitchen and living area that was separate from the bedroom. The suite was huge compared to the usual standard hotel rooms that I've been accustomed to. The kitchen came in handy as I was able to stay in one of the nights and cook myself a meal. If you're not up for cooking, there are plenty of restaurants all within walking distance. The whirlpool bath was nice to unwind in before getting to sleep. Overall I've found this place clean and comfortable with friendly and very accommodating staff. It's a hidden gem on Federal Hill. The only recommendation I can think of is to bring some snacks with you. I had the munchies during my first night and there are not any vending/snack machines in the hotel. They do however sell beverages in the lobby.

“Better in Pics”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

I have been to Federal Hill many times and have always wanted to stay at this boutique style hotel. Sits in the center of the main of all the great restaurants and entertainment of the area.
Winter is a quiet time both during the day and evening so it was very peaceful.

The pictures on their website are much better than the actual rooms themselves. It was a good thing that they offer a name your price option online (within reason they will accept) else I would have never paid full price to there. Check-in was easy and service was very pleasant. I was given a 1 bedroom on the first level. If staying here regquest a higher level unless you like views of the back alleys and listening to delivery trucks and people all day long. Room was clean but very minimalistic. Living room/kitchen combo and a bedroom. As this was a romantic getaway we planned to make use of the kitchen. We had found most of what we needed with the exception of a corkscrew for the wine. When I had requested one at the front desk..it took almost 40 minutes for them to locate one and once they brought it to us, they waited at the door for us to use it and take it back. Not many would make use of the kitchen but it was nice to have a dinner in a relaxing manner.

Great little Italian store "Vendi Ravioli" is in the corner and you can get everything you need for a great meal. Fresh meats, fresh pasta and homemade sauces.

In the bathroom they is a jetted tub but unfortuantely ours did not work so we could not enjoy it. The bed is less than a foot off the ground but comfortable. All tile floors including in the bedroom so make sure to dry up well after a shower.

There is really no place to park other than the street which has two hour time limit during the day hours and as the city will ticket ($20) we made use of the valet parking which is $20.00 with in and out privilegies. Although we went got our own car when needed. Parked about 2 blocks away.

Would like to stay again during the warmer months but as their prices double during the summer it will depend on cost.

Room Tip: Choose an upper floor.

“Huge Suite for half the price?!”

I was suspect when reading others reviews, But when I saw the rates it made no sense to stay anywhere else for my one night stay in prov. this place is definitely not the norm but the size of my room was CRAZY. it was only me and for some reason I was given a complimentary upgrade to a two bedroom suite, so I didn't need it. But either way. It was very pretty. the color accents were cool (not sure if this is new Bc people have remarked about the stark white) the desk was real nice. one person at a time so when I had a question I had to wait and that was kinda annoying. But I get it.
The restaurant next door was pretty good. Over all. I say yes to dolce vita!
