My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Providence on 1/21. We had booked a special package called, "Shop Right, Have a Bite, Sleep Tight," that gave us a King Suite for only $119, which was less than their standard room rate for that night (the King Suite without the package was around $240 for that night). It also included free breakfast and a snack basket. Because of the snow storm, they had several cancelations and upgraded us to the Premier Suite, which the bellman said was the nicest room in the place. It had a large bedroom area with a very comfortable king-sized bed and flat screen tv, a nice-sized kitchenette with microwave, large fridge, sink, and a Keurig machine with coffee and tea, plus an extra sitting room with a pull-out couch, chair, desk, and another flat-screen. The bathroom was large and modern with a jacuzzi and separate shower. Everything was extremely clean and in good shape. We have stayed there once before in a regular room, and we thought it was really nice as well.
Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. It is a small boutique hotel and has a personal feel, not like a big chain. When we asked for a place to grab a drink or dessert, they suggested a restaurant/bar a block or two away, called Local 121, which was a nice find. Breakfast there was lovely--delicious french toast with a nice view of the courtyard.
Check in and check out were easy and fast. The bellman was very prompt and helpful. Note that this is a city hotel, and valet parking is $26 a night. With the rate we were paying, it didn't hurt a bit. I would definitely stay here again.
