We could not have asked for a better place to stay than the Christopher Dodge House. It is a quaint old home made into a bed and breakfast. It was as if we had stepped into the past. This is everything you could ask for in a New England Bed and Breakfast ! We were greeted by a warm and friendly staff, the room was New England style-beautiful old wood floors, and a warm fire was greeting us. It was just lovely. All of the staff was friendly and accommodating. We took a short tour and saw a sitting room with a computer, snacks-wonderful home-baked goods-just a cozy place to relax. We also saw the breakfast area where we were told we would be served a warm breakfast which changed each day and a choice of pastries, coffee, etc. We were to learn that this breakfast would be the highlight of our day ! We had a fantastic bacon and sausage and vegetable streusel as well as pastries, juice, and wonderful coffee. I heard that the blueberry French toast was outstanding as well . Home baked goodies were tucked everywhere so that you would never be lacking a snack. All made by Alynne, a trained pasty chef. You could almost always get coffee, tea, or fresh homemade cookies. We wished that our stay could have been longer. For sure we will be back and bring our friends along with us. The Christopher Dodge Inn will be my first choice in New England Bed and breakfasts from now on. We are "Southerners" so we are strict judges of hospitality, authentic surroundings, and fine baking-this place deserves an A + in all three categories !
