This was a lovely B&B very close to Brown and 20-30 min. walking from downtown Providence, or a 5 min. drive. Annie is very kind and hospitable The house has aged well into a charming, warm, cozy environment. Recommended!

I enjoyed my stay. Annie was friendly and helpful. My room was charmingly decorated, clean and thoughtfully furnished. Annie makes excellent coffee and an interesting, tasty variety of breakfasts which included a really fresh fruit salad daily. Brownell House offered me a relaxed, welcoming and affordable home from home for a single lady for a longer stay. I look forward to my next visit.
Nice b/b. Very clean. We had a front room...a bit more traffic noise than expected. Rooms are very nice, shared bathroom (they should provide robes). Also, there should be somekind of lock on room doors for privacy/security. They to invest $300.00 and buy a new T.V....no sound, poor color, from the 1980's. Breakfast was adequate9 fresh fruit, an egg, toast) nothing fancy or gourmet though. A liitle further from Brown than thought (15-20 minute walk).Overall, it was convenient, clean, and acceptable.
We went out of our way to be sure our reservations were set, provided credit card information for billing and, on the day...the facility had lost everything. There were no rooms available and, at a time when rooms in Providence were completely booked. So, we can't say what it might be like to stay here but would suggest people find a place that has even a clue what they are doing when it comes to organization.
The Annie Brownell House is fantastic--an extremely clean and spotless place; delicious breakfast including the most amazing fruits, eggs with fresh herbs, and breads, juice, and yogurt. Annie's breakfasts are the best I've eaten anywhere. Annie is the perfect hostess with a lovely, kind-hearted personality. Additionally, she knows the area well. She allows her guests to accomplish their business around Providence with little fanfare, yet, she is a calm and helpful presence should one need guidance. The house has lots of positive energy, and I felt at home immediately. There is the sweetest dog on the main floor that makes the visit extra special. Free internet is available. Terrific restaurants, Starbucks, CVS pharmacy, and major bank just a block or two from front Annie's front porch. Everything one might possibly need is so conveniently located. Honestly, this B & B is the best one I know, and I have high expectations. Whenever I am in Providence visiting my son, I will definitely book the Annie Brownell house.
