“Now this is our idea of a cabin!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2010

Having stayed at a suite in the Della Terra Mountain Chatuea on our last trip to Estes Park we have rather high expectations of Estes Park and we were impressed with our cabin at Mountain Shadows! The pictures on the website are exactly what the cabin looked like inside! The things the website does not show but that made the difference between staying at a rustic cabin and this cabin are: the 400 thread count sheets, a great bed, a warm fireplace at the flip of a switch, delicious muffins with hot chocolate after dinner, a walk shower with dual shower heads, and it was quiet! The layout is such that there is no connecting wall to another room. I must add that as a Veteran, my wife and I deeply appreciated the service of the Owner and the acknowledgement of my service by gifting us the cabin the night before Veterans day. We plan to return! For those who want a rustic cabin, you may want to enjoy these well appointed Mountain Shadows cabins instead!

“Great Location and Setup”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2010

Staying at Mountain Shadows was great. The location is nice, with an elevated view of the Mountains and RMNP, as well as quick access to great resturaunts and shops. The room was comfortable with a nice bed, kitchen, TV and DVD player with a hottub inside the room. The only thing I would recommend would be to have a home cooked breakfast to complete the "Bed and Breakfast", although a nice breakfast snack is included

“perfect getaway spot for me, my husband & my dog.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2010

Only thing missing was a little table & chair or desk so I could write or we could 'eat in' & enjoy 'staying home' in our Home Away From when the weather turned (so the pation got chilly). Rob & Tina are lovely, caring hosts. Tina's attention to details & comfort shows.
The location is perfect - close enough to everything (very close to town, restaurants, grocery, etc) but So-Far-Away (just as we had hoped) Rooms seemed soundproof too, which was great when our little dog heard the wind... (She loved it there too) Hot tub was clean & relaxing. Internet access would have been fun but wasnt necessary this trip.. THANX FOR A LOVELY WEEKEND.

“Cabin was restful, clean, and very enjoyable.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2010

We were looking for a mountain retreat, and that is exactly what we found. The beds/mattresses were the best ever, and the cabins were very clean. This lodging was nice and close to town, but still gave us the feeling of wilderness. We needed to bring along our dog, and he was treated well, in fact given treats! Our cabin was beautifully decorated with everything very carefully maintained. The things that we liked least would have to be that there was not much closet space, and the small refrigerator caused milk to freeze, but those are very minor details. Free WiFi was advertised, however we were unable to connect, nor did we have cell phone service. This is typical of the area and not specific to this Inn. Overall, we were very pleased and would definitely return.

“Great place for a quiet getaway.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 September 2010

We stayed in Sweethearts Forever cabin. Wonderful duplex cabin arrangement -- very large main room with cathedral ceiling, in-room hot tub, heated towel rack, king-size bed (very comfortable), gas fireplace, two-head shower, kitchenette area with microwave, refrigerator, toaster, sink. Only suggested improvement would be a small table and a chair. Only place to sit in room is on bed or loveseat, which is too close to TV for comfortable viewing, mostly because TV is on very high fireplace mantle. Location is in quiet, wooded neighborhood on hillside about 1/2 mile south of river. While sitting on porch, had three bull elk wander by within about 100 feet.
