“Idyliic- perfect Rocky Mountain Getaway - stop your search here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

Within minutes of arrival we saw our first big bull elk alongside the road beside Pine Haven Cabins, he was posing very nicely for all the cameras until a few over eager tourists invaded his personal space! We enjoyed the Cowboy Cabin and Elk Horn Cabin immensely. We were surprised by how different the firewood that was provided was from what we were accustomed to (we use hardwood in Maine, I longed for a few nice sticks of beech and maple to make the fire last longer) but the pine sticks were nice for a quick fire and to give one the ambience of having the crackle and soft flicker of a fire in the cabin. We were a little disappointed that after a long and cold snowy ride on horseback our cabin was not available at aprox 4pm for us to check into the day we needed to switch cabins, especially after leaving our other cabin virtually spotless at 7am that morning and reading reviews about how much they had done for previous guests that were moving between cabins. That said, take our disappointment with a grain of salt, as George and Joan had a mishap with the cleaning cart that day and another cabin that was left a disaster, and an employee who disappeared on an impromptu break( it was murphy's law in action!) and it slowed production but once we arrived they put all forces towards the task of making things right and getting our cabin fixed up and promptly ready and it was VERY clean and beautiful when we made it in. The attention to detail in the decor was amazing, and Fresh lillies - wonderful! We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it as a great place for friends, it is 5 min or so from the park, and a quick drive into town. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed having our own place to go to to fix meals. My five year old daughter loved the playground and the hot tub. We also saw a fox one evening near the edge of the cabins. We would love to come back and explore the hiking trails and maybe do some fishing in the river and cook on the grills! We enjoyed the wi-fi hookup since cellular service was not available this allowed us to stay connected with family at home. Our only suggestion would be a little memory foam pad for the mattresses, my poor old back did not take the standard mattress with grace, but the five year old had no complaints! George was so affable and friendly, he was a sweetheart to my daughter and even gave her a little gift to take home, his generosity and kindness was greatly appreciated!

“Perfect Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Pine Haven has the perfect location. About 3 miles from the Safeway Grocery store (on the same road so you don't have to fight crowds in town if you don't want to. JOIN their rewards program!! We saved about $35 dollars in the 3 nights that we were there by doing so.) Only 3 miles from the gate of Rocky Mountain National Park. Scenery is fabulous right from the front door of your cabin. We cooked all our own meals and saved enough to pay the difference between a cheap hotel and the price of Pine Haven. If/when we go back to Estes Park we will certainly stay with George again. The only negatives that I can come up with are the number of electrical outlets (we did manage so not that big a deal but you do have to be creative) and the dust catchers. Both my wife and I have allergies and the decorations caused our allergies to kick up. Both of us have our allergies controlled so not as big a deal to us as to some others. Decorations make the place more homey and quaint but... they do catch dust and that cannot be helped. Overall the cabin (we stayed in "Honeymoon" cabin 4) was clean, efficient and we loved it. I think I will rent one of the cabins with a deck when we go back. A little more private than sitting on the front stoop.

Room Tip: Get a cabin with a deck. The decks are worth the extra.

“Loved It!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

We enjoyed our stay at Pine Haven, the cabin was spotless and beautifully decorated. Loved that it is set back from the road, but still so close to Estes for shopping, or RMNP for hiking. The deck was so relaxing, set at the back of the cabin for some privacy and a nice view up the mountainside. We have stayed at different lodging in the area over the years, but this was our first stay here. This will be the only place we'll stay in Estes from now on!!

“The only place we'll stay-the only place we'd recommend!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2011

Pinehaven has everything we looked for in a "getta-away. The grounds are lovely, homey, filled with flowers, comfort & privacy. The hospitality we felt here is un-matched, the owners, George & Joan, their son Brian, go above and beyond to make our stay memorable.

Room Tip: photos of all cabins on line

“Great place in a great location.”

We chose this place because of the wonderful things my family said of it. George was very helpful in getting us set over the phone. The cabin was clean upon arrival. The location to downtown Estes is great! The entrance to Rocky Mountain Park is literally right down the road. We were visited by Turkey, Elk, ground squirrels, and other wildlife everyday. My 9 year old daughter loved it here. Best family vacation we have had. I look forward to many more.
