“Fine budget hotel”

We pulled into Estes Park on a Friday night in August. We were hoping to camp - but the Natioan Park was full. So looking for a decent but not expensive hotel for one night, we ended up at this Travelodge. It was clean, had views of the mountains. For the $69 we paid, I was quite happy with the room. It is set back a bit from the road so it is not too noisy. Also there was a nice pool and hot tub that worked just fine. Nothing fancy, and I personally wouldn't want to spend my vacation here, but for a night or two at a reasonable price - it is just fine.

“Travelodge of Estes Park”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

The off season had begun and I stayed in a "suite" which in general was average. I felt some curtains were too close to an electric type heater. The lighting though was poor, had I not used my own internet hot spot the wireless would have been poor. What irritated me more was after dark, all lights were turn off thus potentally affecting security. The room was clean, but was just OK. I assure all though, Estes park has far worse than the Travelodge.

Room Tip: If you must stay here get a suite.

“Pictures are very deceiving!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2011

The pictures must have been taken years ago! The motel is very run down and dated. The room was dimly lit, the sink in the bathroom wouldn't drain, toilet tissue holder was falling off the wall and there were pin holes in the drapes and a 1" space under the door letting the sun shine through. This was a real dump! A little TLC would go a long way. This was so overpriced it was ridiculous and the owner should be ashamed! Very noisy! Spoiled an otherwise nice time in Estes Park. Wyndam/Travelodge should take a look at this motel and remove them from their chain!

Room Tip: Don't stay here -

“Very Unorganized, Be Careful.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011

We read the reviews and decided this was not the place for us. However, the family members we were traveling with had already booked here for two nights, so we decided to stay as well. The first room we were given had not been cleaned, when we told the gentleman working the front desk he was upset and apologized several times. But then he tried to put us in a room that was already occupied by somebody else. They do not have a computer tracking the the rooms, only a hand written card placed in a slot which can easily get mixed up. We final got our room and it was clean, a little outdated but the room was decent.

The next day while my son was in the room alone, somebody else had been given our room to stay in and had a key. There were several empty rooms available, not sure why they keep trying to rent out the same room. Our door would not look from the outside with the key properly, we did not realize this until the last day. Glad we did not keep anything valuable in the room.

Overall, the room was clean and the breakfast was very basic. But because of the safety issue, I would not stay here again or recommend any body else stay here as well.

Room Tip: Very unorganized, be carefull, not safe!

“We would never stay here again for the price!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 July 2011

Our family was taking a road trip this summer and we had the AAA books to refer to for hotel stays. We were going to visit Rocky Mountain National Park and the village of Estes Park is the closest location to the Rockies. I called several hotels, but all were booked for the night except the Travelodge, so we went ahead and booked the room. The price was just way too much for this hotel. The owner at the front desk would not grant me my AAA discount even though it is AAA recommended. I have yet to contact AAA about that. The bathroom was extremely small; there wasn't anyplace to put your toiletries at all. Beds were not comfortable, but they were clean. Good thing we took extra pillows because there weren't any available even upon request. Breakfast was minimal; just muffins, two kinds of cereal, milk and juice.
