We had a wonderful stay in the Valley View 3-bedroom cabin. 2 parents, 2 teens, 1 grandma. Very comfortable. Just perfect. Can't wait to return.

We arrived at the Baldpate after hiking 10 miles and were starving. They have a wonderful soup and salad bar, but all my husband and I wanted was a pizza. We were hiking from B & B to B & B, so we didn't have our car. The owner as well as the front desk staff went out of their way to make sure that we got our pizza (the Baldpate is pretty far fis also from the nearest pizza place). The owner actually offered to have one of her staff pick up the pizza for us. They are wonderful. The rooms are very cozy, we loved the history of the inn.
The breakfast that they serve is equally amazing. I have never been to a B & B that has a server, multiple courses, and unlimited refills of orange juice.
It is also across the street from Lily lake and the trail leading to the Estes Cone.
Our lives are hectic with two young children and when we escaped to Estes Park, we were pleasantly surprised by The Baldpate Inn. We stayed in the main lodge and soaked up all of the simple nuances of the place from the cozy fireplaces, porch swings, creaking-rolling floors, rustic styling and "take a step back to simpler times" room decorations and amenities. The food, although price is intimidating, is worth every penny! My mouth still waters thinking about the soup and those morning cinnamon rolls. It was also very refreshing to see a staff that the owner obviously handpicked and is putting the effort into grooming into exceptionally respectful and responsible professionals and adults. We were able to enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings by hiking the nearby trails during the day and just plain out relax. We cut out all of the hustle and bustle of our daily lives and truly relaxed. This is a unique retreat off the beaten path; the perfect place for those seeking something quaint and different.
My husband and I had a small double bed with tiny bathroom; we chose not to use the tub. The bed sheets were fine but everything else in the room was old, dingy, and the room was far too small for two people. We did peek in to a larger Queen room and it probably would have been fine. Breakfast was fantastic - the best quiche ever - and the bedtime snacks were good. Lugging suitcases up two flights of stairs was a bit hard. I wouldn't go back, but it would probably be OK if you splurge on the larger guest rooms.
Stayed here in the middle of a hiking trip. The staff which is comprised of college students was very helpful to take care of anything we needed. If you are looking for a Westin or a Hilton you don't want to come here but I believe that is what makes it a unique place. Except for 2 rooms I believe there are no private baths or showers but that really wasn't a big deal to us.Must see the hummingbirds from the front porch or the restaurant.Breakfast was superb. Lunch and/or dinner consists of a salad bar with fresh bread and 2 homemade soups. All in all I would have no qualms about staying here again.
