“A very enjoyable stay and good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

Looking for a week plus stay on the North East side of the city, we found the lovely and most comfortable Courtyard Marriott off Jefferson Street and Paseo del Norte. Very good value, quiet, an attentive staff, good coffee in the AM (Free!!), and a true jewel. Of particular note are the heralded beds at the Courtyard. If you can consistently find a better sleep at a national chain, take it...but I know you cannot. The hotels restaurant, while limited in hours, is well manned with a gracious staff and good food. We're going back and will certainly stay at the Courtyard Marriott... a real fine place.

Room Tip: stay facing the Courtyard...very quiet.

“Great place to sleep, but do not drink the water”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

This was one of the nicest places I have ever stayed overnight, the rooms were spacious and cozy at the same time. I did not have the feeling of sleeping and staying in a room were someone else just slept. The pillows were good and the beds were just right. Typical shower and restroom and typical shampoo.
The only two things I encounter that were troublesome were based on stays at other places.
1) they used water softener for the water it was so bad, cloudy and taste wise, that I went to the store to buy bottled water.
2) they charged 10 dollars for breakfast buffet, not matter what you got, it was ten dollars.

Overall a good stay, bring you own water.. and food, but not to much food, cause they did not have a fridge or microwave in our room.

“Nice, quaint hotel”

We stayed here during Thanksgiving week. It is right off of the 25 expressway and Jefferson Ave. It's quite accessible to Rio Rancho, and Northern Albuquerque. It's not a bad drive to the airport. It's tucked away in the Journal Center area, with office buildings and just up the street (Jefferson) from a Starbucks, which I frequented daily. The room was exceptionally clean. We had a courtyard view, which I would recommend because I can see if you overlook the 25 expressway, it could be noisy. The pool area (I never made it there), seemed to be a little separate building you have to go outside to access. Other's might have more information regarding this. We never ate there, so I can't rate the restaurant, but it never seemed crowded. Nice bar area, with seating seemed cozy. Decor very nice and Southwestern. Great cookies on Front Desk area in the evening, and Cucumber iced water there also. The only cons: The toilet area and shower area had a privacy door, and when you turned the light on, the fan automatically came on and was very loud and a little dark in there. I didn't like the automatic fan coming on. Then the dressing sink area had no door, whereby if you were getting ready, you would disturb anyone trying to sleep in the bed right around the corner. The heater, sounded liked a muffled ambulance in the distance, but tolerable. Front desk gal who checked us in could have had more personality (I am a former Marriott employee), and the standards we were told to uphold, didn't seem to resonate with this gal. Otherwise, we didn't have any other interaction with staff. No problems in our room to report either. I would stay here again though, I liked the location and the hotel overall.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet interior courtyard room.

“Unique Southwest design”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

The New Mexico design of this hotel led me to book my business trip at this property. Although the rooms are typical Courtyard, the exterior and lobby/restaurant have New Mexico adobe styling, which is a fun twist (although not really unique in this part of the state). I did not notice any of the condition or maintenance issues other posters had mentioned. My double-queen room was nice, clean, and functional. The bathroom was spacious, but the counter space was very limited. Very good flow and pressure in the shower. The TV was a good-sized HD flatscreen, but none of the channels had HD content. The wireless internet worked well after I placed a call to the tech support to get it working initially. The restaurant has a good breakfast buffet, and the one dinner I had was good. Try the green chile and pork stew. The pool, spa, and exercise facility is indoors (and the pool is nicely heated), but it is in a separate building in the courtyard (so you walk outside a few steps to enter). My biggest complaint about the property was the temperature control - I could not get the room cold enough (in December!!) to sleep comfortably.
