“Not Worth the Stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We were traveling through and just needed a place to sleep for one night. The hotel room was older, main light in the room was broken, remote for tv broken, one bed appeared not very clean, and it was very noisy! The beds are not comfortable at all (hard as a rock)! If the room doesn't seem clean and things are broken it's not worth the stay no matter how much you pay. Will not stay again and do not recommend.

“They left the door to my room open for two days while I was away on business.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2011

I stayed at the Crossland Economy Studios for two weeks upon first moving to Albuquerque. In my second week, I had to leave town on business, and returned to discover that the door of my room had been left open for two days. Not merely unlocked, but visibly open to the parking lot - I didn't even have to turn the handle to open the door, let alone use the key card. This room was on the ground floor of the hotel, open to the parking lot, next to the laundry room - and hotel security failed to notice that the door of the room was open for 48 hours with no lights on inside. I was incredibly fortunate not to return to find all of my possessions missing.

Upon returning to the hotel and discovering that my room was apparently being used as an open house, I spoke with the hotel management about the problem. After investigating the keycard reader on my door, they determined that the room had been open since Wednesday morning when housekeeping visited (it was Friday afternoon). I moved out immediately, and the hotel manager was kind enough to offer me one free night's stay in exchange for leaving my room open for 48+ hours. What a deal!

Further discussions with people at corporate headquarters resulted in numerous apologies and promises of contact from people higher on the food chain. Several weeks later, I received a phone call from a regional manager, who informed me that there was no pleasing me and implied that I had been unreasonable to be angry about the situation, as nothing had been taken.

If you're willing to accept this level of service from a hotel, I highly recommend the Crossland Economy Studios. For my part, I would feel safer leaving my possessions in a locker at the bus station and sleeping on a bench.

Room Tip: Stay anywhere else. You and your belongings are not safe here.

Beds are hard as rocks, fleas in our room, $5 extra for Internet that didn't work, no breakfast.

“Rude& dirty”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2011

I had booked with expedia..which means that I paid in advance for an eight day stay. I arrived around 10:30 @ night, exhausted from about 12 hours of traveling time. I had booked a single non smoking room. When I arrived , a rude and somewhat condescending male desk clerk told me that I was in a smoking room. When I told him that I had reserved a nonsmoking room, he quicky interrupted me and said that they never quarantee a nonsmoking room... and all they had for me wasa smoking room. His tone was NOT helpful, he acted like I was bothering him. It didn't matter what I said to him...it was the nonsmoking room or nothing.I asked him when i could be switched to nonsmoking room, he rudely replied he didn't know. When I said that wasn't a good enough answer, he scribbled something down in a notebook, looked through a book and said in two- three days.
when I got to my room, there was dried yellow urine spots on the toilet seat and some type of regurgitated food stuff stuck in the carpet.I was too tired to battle, so i cleaned everything up, took a shower and went to sleep/.
The next day I stopped and spoke with the day clerk, who told me that they just didn't have anything else..but she guaranteed me a nonsmoking room starting on the fifth night of my stay...and wrote something(supposedly) to that effect in anotebook on the desk
The only good thing I can say about the hotel is that they were/are pet freindly.
after 4 nights of returning to my room and being overwhelmed by the stench of old nicotine..I approached the clerk again. As iwaited in line, I overheard the male clerk(from my first night) offer a man his choice of a non smoking room on the first, second or third floor.
when I got to my turn, i explained what I had been promised and what I expected. The clerk demanded to know who had promised me that..telling me that no nonsmoking rooms were available..that there wasn't any note to that effect on the desk.(Pretty bad when liedto about availability when I had just heard him offer three different nonsmoking rooms. to amale client I think that if I had started yelling, I probably would have gotten what I wanted faster, but Iwas brought up that you should always treat people(even when they don't deserve it) respectfully. I repeated what I wanted. I told him I was tired of getting sick every time I went into the room...and I refused to leave. eventually he gave me NEW room..but was very begrudgingly with me.
I don't know what his problem was...whether he had issues with females, short people, people he thought he could bully..who knows? All I know is that the concept of service and making the customer happy was not part of his lexicon. I will NEVER stay there again and will hesitate to stay at any of the extended stay hotels that are part of the chain.

“For an Inexpensive Treat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2010

we were in abq rather late. we used hotels.com for an inexpensive place to stay. Crossland Suites was clean, quiet, and inexpensive. four z's out of five for satisfaction. The only thing that would have made it better is free breakfast.
