We really enjoyed their New Years Eve package. The room was AMAZING, The beds were Soooo comfortable, the view was AMAZING, The Service - AMAZING!! It was a real treat for my husband and I. We will be back to enjoy a "Staycation" in the near future...Thank you to all of the staff, your hotel is beautiful!

The room was large and clean with a great view. The hotel decor is traditional New Mexico style and they serve a great breakfast. Staff were very friendly.Ideally located for walking around Old Town where there are lots of shops are restaurants.

The front desk staff and housekeeping people are quite good. The restoration of the former Sheraton has turned out well, evoking a Pueblo-Colonial style. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The hotel appears well laid out for conferences and meetings.

Both restaurants have problems. Cristobal's aspires to sophistication, but the poorly trained and unresponsive wait staff are not an advantage. The dinner was adequate, but lacked attention to detail. The salmon was overcooked and the risotto clumpy and almost tasteless, for example. The side vegetable serving was tiny. Cafe Plazuela is better, with a good quality New Mexico menu, but the wait staff is even less attentive and trained than at Cristobal's. We asked for coffee refills three times over a 25 minute period before someone other than a waiter brought it. Bent silverware was not replaced, though the wait person did at least make a joke about it, suggesting she was aware of the problem once we pointed it out. And food service at breakfast was very slow even though the restaurant was not even close to full.

So in sum, a satisfactory hotel with less than satisfactory restaurants.

I just got back from a conference at this hotel and the banqueting facilities and meeting rooms were excellent and easy to get to. It's the holidays so the hotel is decorated with seasonal decor, including luminarias lining the outside of the hotel which is so festive and traditional for New Mexico to greet you on arrival. If you are considering a conference here ask about the historic home that is part of this property - we has a welcome reception there and the food and property were just outstanding - so unique - your guests will love it. The hotel is the closest one to Old Town - try the High Noon Saloon for a cozy New Mexican atmosphere with Kiva fireplaces and cool Santos all around. Some locals also suggest the Church Street cafe at Old Town - but I did not care for my food there. There is also a candy shop called the Candy lady and it has a great selection of chocolates, fudge, etc. Loads of local shops and of course do not miss the cathedral in Old Town, it's from the 1700's. Back to the hotel - I had a bit of difficulty with a tub in poor condition in the first room I was checked into - but luckily another room was available where the tub was fine. There is plenty to enjoy about the Hotel Albuquerque - you should consider this hotel when visiting Albuquerque, and especially so if you are planning a conference or event.
