“Good for Balloon Festival”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2010

My husband and I stayed here because we wanted to get up really early and get to the Albuquerque Balloon Festival. It was very convenient and close to the site. The rooms are a bit tired, but very clean. It serves it's purpose if you just want to check in the night before, get a good night's sleep, a free breakfast, and leave the next morning. The staff was very pleasant, though it was a bit disconcerting to have the front desk person behind bullet proof glass.....

“Good deal for cheap stay with ammenities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2010

I spent 2 nights in Albuquerque. The first night at Motel 6 which was nice and new, but they raise their prices on Thurs-Sat. so I moved to the Rodeway for Thurs. night and am glad I did. It is a nice hotel. Free Wi-Fi in the room. Room had an iron and full ironing board, hair dryer, shampoo bottles. The free breakfast was nice: make your own waffles, cereal and milk, donoughts, juices, coffee, tea. More than the typical continental. The pool is a good size. My only complaint is the carpet in the room was dirty. I was walking in the room without shoes or socks and when I got in the shower the bottoms of my feet were black. I did not walk outside the room so it must have been the carpet. It did not smell dirty and looked very normal. I would stay again. Great value for the cheap price.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Rodeway Inn. The hotel was clean, the staff were very friendly, the pool was awesome, the free breakfast was great, the room was perfect, and everything about our stay was positive. We would be delighted to come again!

“Room smelled like urine & smoke & Richard the front desk clerk yelled at me!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2009

We were on our way to Colorado with 2 other couples & 6 kids all together. The room smelled good upon getting there. Once we turned on the air, it started smelling like strong Urine. My sheets and pillow case smelled like stale smoke which kept me awake since I am very allergic to smoke! We ready to go at 5:50am but Richard at the front desk watched the clock and would not even walk to the door until 6:00am. We all (along with 3 other couples) waited in the freezing cold as he took his time. As I was checking out, he took my key and was waving it in the window at me, so I said my last name. He said rudely, "I NEED THE ROOM NUMBER!" So I gave him the number and said are you not in a good mood this morning? I would not repeat it and he got hateful and then said, you will not be getting a deposit back! I asked why because I thought it was his punishment. then I found out because I paid by credit. I asked for his first and last name and he would only give me his first. He then SLAMMED his hand down and told me that I COULD GET OUT AND NOT GET THE FREE BREAKFAST! like he was being generous by allowing us to eat there. I said sir I paid for this breakfast with purchasing the room! He didn't have anything else to say but made sure that he was very friendly to everyone around me!

I have never experienced anything as weird as this. We checked in (my boyfriend and I), went to the room to discover 2 double beds, no biggie. but we really wanted a king 1 bed room. we called to the lobby to ask if they had any, they said they didnt. i asked if...since we had been in the room 5 minutes, if we could get a refund. he said they dont give refunds at all, never. 5 minutes later their was a knock at the door...he said he was security and had been asked to kick us out!!! we were in shock. we should have called the cops, i wish we would have. i went to the lobby to ask for our money back again and to say how upsetting this was...and that we did nothing at all to deserve this. he then looked at me and said, "we dont need your kind here"...i think he actually thought i was there as a "lady of the evening" or something. i could not believe it. i work for a bank, i am not dirty. i have wondered ever since if it was a scam that he and the security gaurd pocket the money from...since we didnt stay the night, it was like we never checked in.
