“WE HAD A GREAT STAY!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We read the reviews and almost passed this great deal by. This is the best deal downtown. What more could you ask for? We had an indoor pool and hot tub - and the pool was actually big enough and deep enough to actually swim not just wade around in. The room was great with new mattresses - frig and microwave - it's own balcony over looking the city. We didn't even have to drive the entire stay because the shuttle took us shopping! I've paid twice as much for half the stuff they offer. Even the staff was exceptional...so if someone has a problem with this hotel - you haven't been around much, is all I can say.

Room Tip: The view of the city is great!

“Misleading”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

I found it annoying that the hotel does not look like the picture. In reality it looks slightly run down. It is on a noisy major freeway. We were too tired when we arrived to try and change and in any case we had booked thru a company that did not allow changes.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the freeway. Going higher up does not help.

Several of the recent reviews refer to our hotel as not looking like the website, so I clicked on the "Professional Photos" on this website and found that each time you do so it redirects to a different site each time (ie Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity, ect.). Each have the outside view as on Trip Advisor. They also feature our Executive Two-Bedroom Suite, with walk-in tile shower, which rents for $150 a night (and is not sold at the lowest rate on the site, obviously). The standard room, the pool, the lobby, the breakfast area, the excercise room, the meeting room,...all of those those are the same. The outside hot tub is not open in January and does have a cover over it. The out side view of the hotel is actually the backside of the property, and the only thing "misleading" about it is the shrubbery on the hillside (which is seldom ever that green in Albuquerque). I would appreciate anyone reading this response to please look at the "Traveler Photos", from guests who have stayed at the hotel.

I always try to locate the reservation before responding to a review but was unable to find a reservation for a "Paul" from San Francisco ever having stayed here. As to his remark that he had "booked with a company that does not allow changes", let me me assure all readers of this review that any company that books a reservation at this hotel - or any other - is obligated to either find you another hotel or refund your money if you have been a victim of fraud. I always encourage the readers, if you have a complaint or a problem, please let the front desk agent know - or ask for me personally - any time of the day or night. Thank you.

“BASIC MOTEL”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Pros: Price, Location, western views, fast internet, elevator
Cons: Musty smell in rooms, unheated pool, Loud sliding doors

If you are a snob about hotels/motels this is not the place for you. If you are accepting of a second rate hotel for a better price and location this is worth it. It does not exude cleanliness or smell fresh but the mustiness is tolerable. The sliding doors to all the rooms are really loud and so your neighbors may bother you with the noise but over all the location/western views made this place worth it. Staff was helpful and nice. Think of it as a step between motel 6 and a La Quinta and you'll get the idea.

Room Tip: Western facing rooms have a great view of downtown ABQ.

“An "OK" place to stay in Albuqueque!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

The Plaza Inn wasn't bad...we stayed one night, and then came back the next week to stay for three more days. The rooms were clean, the hotel was quiet (we were on the quiet side and not across from the highway), and the staff was friendly and helpful. Basic breakfast could have been a little better and the swiming pool area and hot tub could have been a little warner and cleaner. Otherwise, a reasonable place for the price (we paid $60.00/night.)

Room Tip: Get a room on the quiet side of the hotel. One side faces the highway, the other doesn't.

First, let me say thank you for your honest review of our hotel and helpful "room tip". You will be pleased to hear that our adjoining restaurant, The Canary Cafe, will be opening at the end of Janaury, and they will be providing our complimentary hot breakfast. Also, please except our apologies for the pool and hot tub not being as warm as ususal. The vents to the pool had to be closed while they were working on the the heater for the restaurant and we decided to keep the pool open ( with the water heated) for those guests who still wanted to swim. We are also renovating the pool area where the air hockey, foosbal and table tennis are located, so it doesn't look as clean as usual. I'm hoping you will continue to stay with us as we continue to improve.

booked the room online got a fair price but when we got to the hotel was dingy and rough looking. room looked as if it was 50 years old with paint peeling and toilet seat falling off.
not very impressed with looks however kid at front desk was friendly. went to go down for breakfast and was over and time was only 9:15 and was told it would be until 10. i have stayed in nicer places for less money will not stay there again.
