This was our 26th hotel stay in fifteen weeks across North America. We stayed two nights and later returned for a third, around $78/night average. Reception staff were friendly, efficient and remembered us, which was a delightful surprise.
Even with a busload of school kids on our second stay (well placed by the motel up the other end of the building), this was one of the few motels we’ve not needed earplugs to sleep.
The king bed was really comfortable on both stays. Heating was strong and quiet. Room a fairly large size, with a balcony as a bonus. Cleanliness was reasonable – we noticed a little pet hair but it was nothing that bothered us. Room also smelt a little stale (cigarette smoke), but wasn’t overly strong.
A granite top handbasin is outside the bathroom, and there's a large robe with full-length mirror (not common in most motels).
The breakfast buffet had a larger range of choice than other, similar priced motels we’ve stayed in, and with reasonable quality food.
It’s right on the frontage road for the highway, but with a room facing the courtyard we heard no traffic noise. There’s lots of free parking, and five minutes drive towards town you’ll find plenty of fast food places and reasonable restaurants (too far to walk and I wouldn’t walk it at night).
The Manager’s cocktail hour (5-7pm Tues-Thurs only?) was an added bonus with a couple of free beers, free softdrink (soda pop) and popcorn.
Having to swipe your room card to get into the accommodation buildings during the evening gives extra security. Free wifi a little slow.
Drink machine available.
Would definitely stay again.
