I have stayed at the Clarion several times, and have never been disappointed. Yes, it is an older hotel, nothing fancy, but the staff has always been friendly, and the rooms clean. They serve a free hot breakfast. The rooms are good sized, even if the TV is a little small. If you are looking for a lower-priced place to stay, you can't do much better.

I booked the Clarion based on its high ranking #14 of 144 on TripAdvisor, but I guess rankings don't tell the whole story. The motel inn is an older property in need of some renovation. Rooms are dimly lit and furnished with a 27" CRT TV. Bedding is adequate but not luxurious by any means. Still, for the price I paid, $60 or so, it was a good budget value. Pluses: staff was very friendly and tries to keep hotel clean; free use of business center with computer and printer; warm breakfast included. Minuses: pool was out of commission; juice dispenser was out of commission; older property in need of renovation. Location also not ideal. But, really, it is not the 14th best hotel in abq. They are in the process of renovations, however, as one of the three buildings were undergoing work.

We found the stay to be very enjoyable and were impressed with the size of the room, the good food served for the complementary breakfast, and the friendliness of the staff. Best of all, they serve hot coffee 24/7 in the breakfast room. Since it was cold and rainy during our visit, that was especially appreciated. Even though we had a coffee maker in our room, it was convenient to pick up a fresh cup to go when we went in and out of the hotel. We were very pleased and we recommend this hotel for a stay in Albuquerque.

Older hotel, but clean and comfortable room. Separate sink area outside shower/toilet could not be closed off due to bed being in the way. Great breakfast! Could use some work, but for the price, it couldn't be beaten - probably half of what we would have paid elsewhere. Not great for a week, but for one night, a bargain.
