“Barely adequate”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2006

Advertised price on marquis outside hotel is extremely deceptive. A lower rate for the same hotel is found on the Internet even though desk clerk advised that the lowest rate was being given. Although two rooms were rented, one was basically adequate and the other was miniscule. Wi-Fi worked part of the time. Breakfast featured day-old ( or longer) pastries. Rooms are cleaned daily which was one of the few positives.
I will go elsewhere on my next trip to Albuquerque unless all other rooms are taken.

“Cheap place to stay near UNM”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2006

If you want a cheap place to stay (less than $40) near UNM, this is a reasonable choice. Room was clean and everything worked. The free breakfast is minimal. Easy to find from I-40.

“Great rate and great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 May 2006

Great rate at this hotel just a block off of Albuquerque's Old Town area. It's a typical 2-3 star motel establishment, but it was clean and comfortable for my one night stay before heading to Santa Fe.

“powerless deck clerk”

We stayed here during the balloon fiesta. The room was about average, but the advertised high speed internet was not working. Even though I asked about it at check in, no mention was made that it wasn't working. After trying to get online with no results, I went to the desk and was told the high speed was down. It was down during my entire stay, had to use dial-up! The clerk said she was not authorized to make rate adjustments, and of coarse, the manager wasn't in!
Another problem was the maids would knock, then without waiting for a response, just walk on in! The first time, my wife was in bed, the second time, I was sitting on the edge of the bed and could not get to the door before the maid was walking in!
My wife had complained to the front desk about the maid situation, but I guess they didn't care. Then at check-out, we were to get double room credits towards a free stay, but they were out of stamps! I received some stamps in the mail the other day, but not the double amount.
I will not stay here again!
