I stayed with Sarah and Rol the Monday after Balloon Fiesta -- my last day of vacation -- and I couldn't have hoped for a better experience.
I was welcomed enthusiastically by Rol and the dogs, which a first glance seem like vicious guard dogs (insert a big laugh here) when they are really only sizing you up for a seat in your lap. Apparently I passed the test and enjoyed a merry-go-round of two tiny dogs in my lap while sitting in the main house chatting with my hosts. Fun.
The B&B is essentially an oasis in Albuquerque — the enclosed courtyard provides beautiful fountains, seating for nice weather, privacy and a fabulous sauna.
After I mentioned I was being bothered by a cold or allergies, Rol put some eucalyptus in the sauna water to help clear my sinuses. I can attest that it was really nice to walk out my back door and into the sauna in my big, comfy robe and let the dry heat work its magic.
Overall Adobe Nido has everything — comfy beds, great hosts, nice, large clean rooms, a tranquil, gorgeous setting, wifi and I won't forget the amazingly delicious breakfast.
Rol got the coffee going early — thanks again — and I ate enough to last me most of my trip back east. You won't leave hungry and the food is so good — Rol has been practicing his French techniques.
Sarah and Rol are the reason I love to stay in B&Bs — you get the chance to meet people who have lived in the area and can provide great insight. They welcomed me into their home and made me feel "at home."
I know they were tired when I arrived (Balloon Fiesta such a busy time) — I was the only guest that night — but they didn't hesitate in talking about their home and the city. Plus, there's the "cute dog" bonus, which is nice if you're missing pets back home.
I promised them I'd return and I sincerely hope I can make good on that — I would certainly stay here again and highly recommend a stay to anyone considering a jaunt to the great southwest.
Room Tip: All of the rooms are quiet. One is upstairs and two are downstairs. I stayed in a downstairs room ac...
