“Relaxation, comfort and morning conversation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

My husband and I stayed here for one night after getting off a plane flight. Our room was clean, comfortable and the whirlpool with complementary bathing items were definitely a plus to our stay! Right when we arrived were were greeted by two cute little chihuahuas and hosts. I asked about where we should go for dinner and they gave us a great recommendation. In the morning we went for our complementary breakfast at 8:30am and they asked us what we would like to have the night before so it was delicious. They served us a huge meal including: french toast, sausage, homemade smoothies, yogurt and fresh fruit cup! I felt "at home" in their kitchen. I would like to thank them for the great morning conversations we had because after being away from home (Santa Fe) for a month their convo made me feel so comfortable and relaxed.
Definitely make a stay here if you are in Albuquerque!

Room Tip: We stayed in the cheapest room called Burrowing Owl Nest but it was not small and also was adobe sty...

“Enchanting Christmas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

We wanted to get away for Christmas. we originally had reservations at another B&B and a few days before we were to leave our plans for our elderly dog fell through. The original B&B could not except dogs. I called a pet friendly B&B in Albuquerque to get reservations. They were full but recommended Adobe Nido. I called but just knew it was going to be impossible to find what we needed. I talked to Sarah. She was very sweet and understanding of our needs. We stayed in the suite with a large kitchen, living room with fireplace, and two bedrooms. We were extremely comfortable and so relieved that we could take our dog. ( Our dog is elderly and has an inoperable tumour. She won't be with us much longer.) The food was delicious and Sarah and Rol are wonderful hosts. We would definitely stay again and we would highly recommend Adobe Nido.

Room Tip: Quiet neighbourhood and close to Old Town and Interstate 40.

“Fantastic and Down to Earth”

I happened upon Adobe Nido accidentally and stayed for only one night while snowed in on my cross country trip to California, but I plan to come back with friends! Rol and Sarah are exactly the kind of people I want to run a bed and breakfast - that is, the kind of people you genuinely want to chat with over a cup of coffee and a delicious breakfast, complete with local produce and homemade bread. They are unpretentious, utterly helpful, and have designed and hand-built a beautiful cozy 3 bedroom adobe that makes you want to hang out all day. They have carefully attended to every detail, from the heated inlaid brick floors (very important in an ice storm) to homemade salt scrub by the sink to little bedside bottles of limoncello for a nightcap. Plus, the sheets were the softest I've ever slept on. All 3 of the unique rooms have lovely jacuzzi tubs, and there's a private eucalyptus scented sauna tucked into the rear yard. Lovely and laid back, what a great combo.

“A great finish ...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

I stayed with Sarah and Rol the Monday after Balloon Fiesta -- my last day of vacation -- and I couldn't have hoped for a better experience.

I was welcomed enthusiastically by Rol and the dogs, which a first glance seem like vicious guard dogs (insert a big laugh here) when they are really only sizing you up for a seat in your lap. Apparently I passed the test and enjoyed a merry-go-round of two tiny dogs in my lap while sitting in the main house chatting with my hosts. Fun.

The B&B is essentially an oasis in Albuquerque — the enclosed courtyard provides beautiful fountains, seating for nice weather, privacy and a fabulous sauna.

After I mentioned I was being bothered by a cold or allergies, Rol put some eucalyptus in the sauna water to help clear my sinuses. I can attest that it was really nice to walk out my back door and into the sauna in my big, comfy robe and let the dry heat work its magic.

Overall Adobe Nido has everything — comfy beds, great hosts, nice, large clean rooms, a tranquil, gorgeous setting, wifi and I won't forget the amazingly delicious breakfast.

Rol got the coffee going early — thanks again — and I ate enough to last me most of my trip back east. You won't leave hungry and the food is so good — Rol has been practicing his French techniques.

Sarah and Rol are the reason I love to stay in B&Bs — you get the chance to meet people who have lived in the area and can provide great insight. They welcomed me into their home and made me feel "at home."

I know they were tired when I arrived (Balloon Fiesta such a busy time) — I was the only guest that night — but they didn't hesitate in talking about their home and the city. Plus, there's the "cute dog" bonus, which is nice if you're missing pets back home.

I promised them I'd return and I sincerely hope I can make good on that — I would certainly stay here again and highly recommend a stay to anyone considering a jaunt to the great southwest.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are quiet. One is upstairs and two are downstairs. I stayed in a downstairs room ac...

This was our first experience at a B & B. The location is good, the breakfasts were great and the bed was very comfortable. Rol & Sarah were really great hosts !! It was much better than a hotel room and convenient to the Balloon Park.
