The gentleman/owner was inflexible and argumentative. My hopes were high due to the reviews but were dashed by the complete lack of hospitality. If this hotel represents European Hospitality as advertised, I do not want to visit that part of Europe!

This motel is a much welcome change from chain hotels. We arrived late in the evening but the gentleman at the front desk (also the owner) was right there ready to check us in for the night. The room was spotless, well-taken care of, and very spacious. It is always a nice surprise to stay in a hotel that does not use plain white sheets and actually puts fitted sheets on the bed. The beds were really comfortable and we got a great night of sleep. The location cannot be beat if you want to be near Old Town as it is only two blocks away and is also very convenient to the interstate. We are headed back through town and will definitely be staying here again since the value and quality are excellent.

Stayed at the Monterey Non-Smokers Motel in October 2011. I had been reviewing Trip Advisor for recommendations and this place stood out immediately as a nice older "low key" type motel. I was not familiar with Albuquerque and the reviews of this place were overwhelmingly positive.

I found my stay there to be exactly that, very positive in all aspects. Can't wait to make a return visit.
