“A Decent Place to Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We were looking for a place for one night on a road trip. Based on a variety of factors we picked TownPlace. With a group of five, we had a two bedroom suite. It was conveniently located on the ground floor and easily accessible from the side parking area. The hotel is located away from main streets, so vehicle noise is not an issue. Check-in was quick and simple, and the staff was very helpful. They even do a follow-up call about 20 minutes after you check in to confirm that all is OK. We were tired, and the fact that there were two bedrooms gave us the privacy that we all wanted and needed. The only major downside (not the hotel's fault) is that a single restroom is not quite enough for five people - even if you clean up in the kitchen sink. The unit does have a small kitchen, which would be useful for an extended stay. The bathroom is a two-stage proposition: a first door takes you to the sink; a second door takes you to the toilet and shower/bath. It is stocked adequately, and it is not a problem to get extra towels. We were even able to get a toothbrush from the front desk. The continental breakfast was adequate; mostly cereal, yogurt, breads, coffee/tea/juice. It was enough to get us going. Overall, we were satisfied with the faciity.

“2nd stay...as good as the first”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Stayed at this hotel for the 2nd time just before Thanksgiving. In my previous review, I had noted that they did not have a pull-out sofa in our 2 BR suite and that the staff didn't think any of the rooms did. Well they do now (and I doubt they changed anything from the last time we were there). So we had a pullout sofa and 2 BR. Perfect for our family of 4. The only complaints this time - wireless internet did not work (they didn't even have it the last time we were there), and our room smelled of cigarette smoke. Surely this was due to someone in the hotel smoking nearby as it only came on when the heat was on...so not really the hotels fault..just some ignorant guests (it's a non-smoking hotel as all Marriott properties are).

Breakfast is still minimal, but sufficient before we started back on the road. Can't beat the value for such a large room!

“Nice, quiet, great.”

I stay at a lot of Marriotts and this is another great one. Clean, quiet, and a good location. We stayed in the two bedroom suite and there was plenty of room for three adults and two children (one baby.) Close to 1-25, and the airport it was a great stopover on our way to Arizona.

“Not bad for $59 a night”

Basic hotel and on the same level as a Fairfield. Rooms have a small kitchen and decent bathroom. Nice flat screen TV. Bedding is a bit thin but typical of a Marriott budget hotel. Breakfast is orange juice, cereal and yogart. It is free. Fitness center has 2 treadmills and a bike. Close to the airport but Worth the $59 ratenwe received.

“Great bargain”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

We got a 700 sq ft two bedroom suite with living room/dining area and fully furnished kitchen for $99/night. (We promptly spent the money saved at Whole Foods and Trader's Joe to fill the refrigerator.) The rooms were cleaned. The staff was friendly. The free breakfast was nothing special: just the usual cereals, yogurts, fruits, bagels, packaged muffins and boiled eggs.
Instead, you should go to Frontier Restaurant for breakfast, which is fairly close to the hotel. Opened almost 24/7. From the hotel, turn right (north) on Yale to Central. Turn right onto Central. The Frontier is 1-2 blocks down on the right-hand side. Parking in the back. Hugh cinnamon buns. Wonderful breakfast burritos. They make the tortillas on site. You can see the machine with the open flame toasting the tortillas.
Free internet that was easy to access and fast. No need for passwords. There were no little bottles of body lotion in the bathroom, but at these prices, I forgive them. Got a 16 oz of lotion at Trader's Joe for $4.99.
Albuquerque is very easy to get around driving. The hotel is just off I-25.
Will definitely stay there again.
