“We Cannot Rate Higher Than a "2"”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

We don't like to rate any hotel with low marks however this one just cannot be rated higher. The carpet is dirty , the breakfast area is not clean and in general this hotels need s a lot of help. The side entrance door had the entire locking mechanism torn from the hinges on the second night we stayed here. When the front desk was informed she advised she would have maintenance look into this however no one else had reported a problem. This meant that security from the street was breached on the evening of 9/10/2011---not a good situation and on top of this we were close to the airport. The breakfast area just had not been cleaned and we decided not to eat there on the second day. The items available were all cold and not all that fresh. Behind the front check in desk was packages, boxes and bags that resembled more a dumping ground that a front desk. The wash room had a sign on the door that the dryer was out of order---wonder when they will get that fixed. The outside of the building, especially around all door entrances need a cleaning and picking up of trash. If management does not turn this situation around this will quickly go to a one star hotel. While I recognize this is basically a low cost long term type hotel there is no reason to operate a hotel in this manner. We will not be returning.

Room Tip: Walls are paper thin---carpet dirty---if you can live with this then the price is right.

We genuinely apologize that you did not obtain the level of guest satisfaction you deserve. Our hotel does operate with a Preventative Maintenance program in place to make certain our hotel and its fittings are all kept up. We will be definitely looking into in these matters further. We appreciate your feedback as it allows us to further improve upon the present and future stays for all our guests.

“A Pleasant Surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

This was my first stay at a Towne Place, it won't be the last. I was greeted by a friendly, courteous and professional young lady that got me checked in very promptly. My room was spacious and very clean and fresh. I appreciated the kitchen despite the fact that I wouldn't be able to make use of it on this trip. All in all the room was more than comfortable, and surprisingly economical.

“Very friendly staff, great breakfast, new, clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2011

This looks like a pretty new hotel and everything was in great shape. It's just a couple of minutes from the airport but you can't hear the planes. The room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was bountiful. The rate was attractive, especially once you factor in the free breakfast, free shuttle, free Internet, and free local calls.

I was woken up one morning by loud noises from upstairs as if someone was repeatedly throwing heavy objects on the floor. I don't know if it was a guest or the hotel staff.

Tom, the shuttle driver, was very courteous and prompt.

Carissa, the manager, was terrific and very helpful.

So was Felicia. She provided all the information I requested and did it with a smile.

Two other employees were not as great (a man and a woman) but they shall remain nameless.

One day we got a call from the front desk that we had to immediately check out, even though we were staying for several more days. She refused to believe me when I told her we had a reservation through the end of the week. I insisted and she finally relented and said she'd look into it. She finally straightened it out and blamed it on the computer but didn't apologize.

A man at the front desk repeatedly gave me wrong information and always made me feel if I was bothering him. He never smiled.

Those two are the exception as TownePlace almost always hires people who are very friendly and customer-oriented.

I had to call the tech support line on more than one occasion because I couldn't connect to the Internet. Apparently it was due, one one occasion, to another guest improperly connecting a router. I also couldn't use an SSL connection to my email provider to send and receive emails which was a security concern.

I will definitely stay there again but will make sure to choose a room where noise from the street or from upstairs will not be an issue.

“Good for making early morning airline connections.”

My wife and I visit Albuquerque frequently on business and usally spend the night before departure in one of the airport area hotels. We have stayed in most of the hotels adjacent to the Townplace Suites and this one is our favorite. Clean, comfortable rooms and a nice pool area. The gym was small but adequate. The staff were very cheerful and helpful with directions to local restaurants and stores.

We will stay here again on future visits.

“Nice place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2011 via mobile

Stayed three nights, clean hotel, nice sized queen room with full kitchen. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Very small gym and pool is outside.
Typical free breakfast, hard boiled eggs and breads (no hot breakfast).
Overall not a bad place to stay.
