“Upscale Feel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

This hotel is 3 years old and still feels new. The furnishings have very clean lines and upscale. You didn't hear any street noise from I-40. The suites only have an arch between the sleeping and seating area but are very spaciousness. Very comfortable beds and linens. The odd thing was the bathroom door when open blocked the entry door -- very bad design. It's not located directly in 'Old Town' as you would think from their name, but north of I-40 on 12th street --Old Town is south about 2-3 miles away and an easy drive. Easy off/on to I-40 both ways. The mountains shown on the site are quite far away but still within view; located in a new business park with currently only one other office building. The breakfast was the good/norm but more hot selections: eggs, sausage patties, biscuits & gravy. Very nice breakfast area with sofa and TV. Staff was very welcoming. Although we enjoyed our stay I think the price point was a little high for the busy location and not being a two-room suite.

Room Tip: King suites face the mountains.

“Nice facility along the interstate”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

Was traveling across country and had planned to stop over here. The facility was easy to get to. Yes the interstate is near and there is a busy interchange nearby but it certainly did not hamper the experience in either noise nor navigation. The facility itself appears new and clean. The ambiance is a fresh-looking, corporate-southwest. The front desk were prompt, pleasant and accommodating. The rooms were large and comfortable as were the beds. I did get a chance to review the other hotels amenities since this was a quick overnight. My impression would be they were consistent with the quality of the rest of the facility. This was a good value.

DH and I stayed here in September for 1 night. We flew in and just needed a place to sleep before continuing on our New Mexico journey. We were very impressed with, well, pretty much everything! Ronak upgraded us to a suite (it was our 30th anniversary trip, thanks Ronak!). He recommended a great place to eat (Church Street Cafe--it reminded us of our trip to Mexico while we were in there, it really felt like we were in another country!). Room was very clean, bed was great, we had a wet bar, fridge, micro, loveseat, chair and ottoman. In the AM, we looked out the window and saw about 6 hot air balloons outside our window. Breakfast buffet was very filling and tasty. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. I usually dont prefer chain hotels, but liked this one very much.

“Location not great, facility nice”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

The hotel is literally just on the "right side of the tracks, just north of I-40 on 12th Street. NOTE: There is no "12th St." exit from I-40 West. Take the "Frontage Rd. Local Traffic for 6th-12th" exit.

Old Town is about 8-10 blocks away through an extremely modest residential/light industrial area but the hotel is literally across the street from the Indian Pueblo Cultural Museum, which is pretty nice, and the hotel key card gets you a 10% discount at their cafe. Easterners beware what they call a "taco salad" - red hot!

Overall the facility is pretty nice, but they seemed short-staffed much of the time - several times calls to the front desk went unanswered. I would have thought the week of Balloon Fiesta they'd have a max effort. NOTE: Have other things planned for any event vulnerable to weather - 3 days of the Fiesta were rained and/or winded out.

My biggest gripe was that Verizon coverage was poor-to-nonexistent - kudos to Skype!

Room Tip: The Executive King rooms all face north - very convenient for Balloon Fiesta

“Only one complaint!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

Great place for the money! Comfortable beds, great breakfast, friendly and very helpful staff. My only complaint is the pool. It was dirty and no one cleaned it for the entire weekend. No swimming for the kids!
