We made a last minute decision to take a weekend trip to Corpus Christi so I didn't have as much time as I usually do to do hotel research. My mistake. This motor inn is located in an industrial part of the city (next to all the oil refineries). The air didn't smell of petroleum or anything like that, but it just didn't seem like the best part of town. I thought, well, just one night, it won't be that bad. The room was ok. You could tell that the property is an older one. Some of the towels were well worn and should probably have been changed out. It smelled a bit odd, but I couldn't place the smell. The tv was an older tube tv, but that didn't really bother me. The ac was a wall unit and I couldn't get it at the right temperature that wasn't too cold, but not too humid. I couldn't fully turn off the shower, the water was always at a slow trickle. I also couldn't get the knob to change the shower to the bath faucet to go down which wasn't too much of a problem, but I like to get my water temperature just so before turning on the shower. The shower curtain was also a bit mildewy. Eww. I wouldn't have written the review if not for the events of the night. First, around 8 pm, a couple got into a very loud shouting match outside my door. A bit unnerving. Then, upon leaving the room in the morning to get breakfast, my husband noticed some small red spots on the ground. There was a trail of dots leading down the walkway, around the corner, and up the stairs. He thought blood. I thought fruit juice. Unfortunately, he was right. We followed the trail in the other direction, rounded the corner, and saw one of the upstairs rooms had a broken window and lots of blood splatter on the floor below it. I have no idea what happened, but I will surely never stay at this location or chain again (I know, never staying at the chain again is a bit extreme, but this is only the second time I have stayed with this chain so it's not really a loss to me or the chain).

We reserved and paid for a non-smoking room with 2 double beds. We called ahead stating we would arrive late. Told us no problem. Upon arrival, my non-smoking room was given away and we were forced to take a smoking room. Front desk personnel has no Customer Service skills whatsover. Upon arriving to our room, there was dog POOP in a whole corner of the room, boogers on the sink, poop on the wall, etc. We called and got a different room, this one was full of cobwebs and soda splashes on the doors and wall. Wasn't cleaned whatsoever. Since it was 2 a/m by this time, we just went to sleep. Will never stay here again if my life depended on it.

Very pleased with the service, very professional and very helpful. The room was comfortable and clean, the beds were very comfortable. Very easy access to freeway and to local attractions. Very satisfied with breakfast, large variety of choices, CLEAN !!! Would stay there again !!!

Very pleased with overall room & amenities. Free breakfast was sufficient & staff always willing to help. Easy on & off to 37 Highway.
