Very mixed feelings. Booked online despite reviews and best price and not too far from the beach. I checked in late with my family, we were very tired after long day at the beach. Check in was fast, but I got the bad news that new TV's and cable were being installed throughout the hotel and that I might not have tv in my room yet. Of course my kid turned on the tv as soon as we got to room and yep, NO TV! I understand they are trying to upgrade to LCD TVs but WHY would you do this over labor day weekend? Fortunately we were super tired and were able to use our phone to watch a movie. Room itself not too bad, again, we were tired and ready to sleep. We did jump in the pool for a half an hour, was dark so I couldn't see water too well, but pool area seemed dirty and not well maintained. Hallway near my room was cluttered with cable and tv boxes and trash had pizza boxes on top. Next day we missed the free breakfast which ends at 930, which seems too early. Overall, not a very good stay, only thing that helped was that after my complaint at checkout, i was given a nice discount on my one night stay and i felt it was fair. In this case, i got what i paid for.

My family and I stayed here on our family trip to the beach. The staff was great. They let us check in early and the rooms were very clean. We will definitely stay here again.

I booked through Expedia's "hidden" deals. After I had booked and paid for the room the name of the hotel was released. I then decided to look at reviews to see what we were getting. I was so dissappointed by what I read I almost booked something else. Of course I would lose the money, no refund on this kind of deal, so I decided that since we would not be spending the majority of our time there it would do. WELL! I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived late in the evening at our LaQuinta. The front desk person was extremely nice-professional really, in her check-in procedures. We were upgraded to a King suite as the hotel was booked and our standard king was still occupied. The room was VERY clean, very spacious and quiet. And the hotel was full of teenage girls there for a soccer tournament. We stayed 3 nights, slept in each day and did not leave the room until around 10 - 11 each morning. Came back early evenings and read or watched tv..our son played video games..all that to say it was a very comfortable place to be. Now, there are nicer areas in Corpus...but honestly, we were close to everything, and to stay in the "nice" area a couple of miles away..not worth more than double what we paid. I will say the pool was not clean..but I assumed it was because the hotel was packed all weekend and the pool was always busy..we went to take a morning swim on Monday. We dicided not to but we were going to the beach so this was no big deal. All in all, we would book this again when we go to the coast!
Oh, breakfast was well organized too, and again, the place was packed with teens and their families. They had waffles which my son enjoyed!

First off, I usually dont stay at La Quinta hotels. I was here on a business trip and the client paid for my stay. This hotel is very dated. The bathrooms are very small, the shower head is level with my neck and im only 5'11" tall. The outside of the hotel was dirty. The hotel uses some kind of 1980's style key to enter your room. And the breakfast in the mornings was a joke. Let me put it to you like this...When I entered my room, the first thing I did was pull the sheets off and look for stains or bugs...I didnt find any and thats a good thing. The bedding was very comfortable and appeared to be clean.
