my husband, 2 grandkids aged 5 & 9, and a friend aged 11 stayed 2 yrs ago and it was one of the best vacations of our lives. yes, the hotel is older, but clean, the staff courteous and very helpful. our room overlooked the pool, so i could wave to my husband and grandkids from our balcony. the view from the breakfast room is breathtaking! i wanted just to go sit there and read a book and enjoy the marina view of sailboats, yachts, and seagulls. a short distance away is the whataburger with the outside deck to eat on, across the street are the bicycle surry rides, the marina, and joes crabshack. we were there for 3 days and intend to go back this june. my granddaughter is so excited to be going back. it's a great place for families. my husband and i would wholly recommend staying here. i can't rave enough about it. planning our trip now for june and will be scheduling soon. i noticed from other posts problems people had, but we didn't experience any of those problems. we're all looking forward to staying here again this june. linda and tom j

This hotel older but so are all the other ones. The good thing is that this hotel is very well maintained. My room was vey clean and had a good size bathroom. The view was awsome! Right on the seawall. Walking distance to many restaurants, bars, the sea! I stay in corpus all the time, for the hotel location you can't find a better deal

We stay at this hotel regularly since it is right on the marina and has wonderful views. Besides that, it's reasonably priced and the employees are very nice and helpful. The beds were upgraded in the last room we stayed in with really high and comfortable matresses. They were so high, my feet wouldn't touch the ground when I sat on the bed!
We were excited to hear that they are going to reopen a bar/restaurant on the top floor.
There used to be one there and it was nice to be able to have a cocktail and look out on the bay from that height.
Lately, that space has been used for the free breakfast.
The breakfast consisted of the usual continental breakfast items and biscuits and scrambled eggs - all good.

are at this hotel. Our room was on the 10th floor and we had an awesome view of the water and marina across the street. Our room was huge and very clean but it was dated and could certainly benefit from some cosmetic updates to the curtains and carpet.

As noted in previous reviews, the hotel is very close to an outdoor bandstand which plays until 1:30am so don't expect much sleep until after that. As we were just below the breakfast floor, we were awakened very early ( around 5:00am or so) with the staff up there rolling their trolleys of food around in preparation for the breakfast crowd. Also be advised that they are planning to renovate that flloor and add a bar and restaurant by the spring of 2012. Many 10th flloor guests will not get a lot of sleep when that happens!

Chris at the front desk was helpful and friendly; Kelly (I think. Redhead with should-length hair) was much less friendly and seemed to delight in "high-jacking" us with some request as we were leaving in the morning. Perhaps she is not aware of telephones and messages.

Overall, we would return to this hotel.
