Hello. I just returned from a 3 day stay at the Radisson CC hotel. Overall the experience was good, but I wanted to share my full experience with any other interested readers. Check in was quick and check out could be accomplished via your TV in your room on your departure day. The hotel's geographic location is obviously it's main draw. It is right on the beach and only steps from the Lexinton. We stayed for the 4th of July weekend and had front row seats for the fireworks display...very nice
On the negative side, parking was a nightmare. When you spend $200 bucks per night, you expect that there will be a place to put your car, but each night we were there, the parking lot was (over)full and parking was very frustrating. When you check in, the front desk staff give each guest a green tag to hang from your mirror which is to indicate which cars belong to guests and which cars do not. In walking through the parking lot however, about 1 in 5 cars didn't have a green tag and security nor management seemed too interested in enforcing that only hotel guests can park in the lot (pretty much a "you're on your own" attitude). I saw many guests complain about this situation to no avail. The security guard in the lot said to go in and talk to the desk manager and when you do so, the manager tells you it's security's problem. In fact, the security guard was telling guests to park in the parking lots of other nearby hotel/motels, but those lots were full as well (besides, I didn't feel very safe leaving my Jaguar in some motel lot 1/2 mile away).
Also, the hotel restaurant was very disorganized and I saw many tables sit for 10, 15 or more minutes without a waitress coming to greet or take orders. In the two times I ate at the restaurant, I saw 4 tables get up and leave in frustration. I got up and spoke with the kitchen manager (there was no floor manager) who happened to be out in the dining room checking on the buffet and he actually started taking orders and helping guests at about 10 tables (I tipped him very well for his extra efforts...thank you Michael). Still the waitresses had a bad attitude and didn't seem to care. That said, once served, the food wasn't bad at all.
Also, the hotel pool, although decent seemed to have its priorities mixed up. I went down to the pool with a small cooler of bottled water. After sitting there for a few minutes, one of the staff members who worked the pool bar (yes, there's a swim up bar at the pool) came over and told me that coolers weren't allowed. When I asked why, she said that the hotel wouldn't sell any drinks if people brought their own coolers. So, I made the trek back to the room to drop my cooler off. Upon returning to the pool, there were several people who had obviously had too much to drink (one drunk guy in particular). Not once did the staff say anything to him as I watched him down at least 6 drinks in the 90 minutes I was there. In fact, he was stepping on people who were lying on their towles on the deck and tripped over another man. Seems my not spending money at the bar was a more important rule to enforce than drunks falling over themselves in front of a bunch of kids.
The room itself was decent. The bathroom sink (faucet) had a leak and one of the table lamps was broken, but overall, not bad.
So, in fairness, I wouldn't say it was a bad experience, but there are some issues that should be considered before staying here. This is especially true of the parking situation. It is very frustrating to want to go for a drive somewhere, but not do so because you know if you leave the lot, you will most likely come back and have to park down the street somewhere.
