I was attending a family wedding with my husband. Great price, great hot breakfast, complimentary internet access, two tvs, kitchenette, and complimentary microwaveable popcorn and the room was really clean (no dust bunnies anywhere)! There was ample lighting with table lamps, standing room lamps, and over the sink lighting....with BIG mirrors on the doors (no problem putting make-up on!). There were luggage carts that were easily accessible for use in unloading the car. I was worried about noise when I saw a whole bus load of students checking in after us....but the walls must be constructed well because I didn't hear any of the students. I want to come back.

Great hotel, friendly staff, well appointed, generally a free evening manager's reception with actual food, decent internet access (not like at home, but good for a hotel). Parking is ample, flatscreen TV, kitchenette. Walking distance to movie theatre, several restaurants and Wal-Mart. Location isn't really local to anything, but it's a pretty much straight shot to wherever you are going - whether to Downtown, the Lexington or Padre Island.

I have stayed here several times over the past year and have always had an excellent stay. Everything that I am looking for in a midrange hotel.

Overall the hotel is clean comfortable with all the promises of a Homewood Suites. As mentioned by others, getting to and from the hotel can be tricky but is sits in a good location with several places to dine or even see a movie. My only complain is checking in. During my first trip in May 2011, we arrived early and were not able to check in, no big deal we understood that it was not quite check in time. We then returned in the late afternoon only to find out our rooms were not ready and actually the rooms that should have been our were given away. During my August trip I e-checked in about noon, and arrived at the hotel around 5pm to find my room still being cleaned. After two visits it is obvious that they need to do a better job preparing rooms for incoming guest. Other than the checkin issues, I would recommend this hotel.

Great hotel. We tried the evening buffet which was surprisingly good. We loved the breakfast buffet, so many options each day. The staff is outstanding. Their was an issue with 1 of the outside doors and our bill was adjusted and the door was repaired. The location is 20 minutes from Mustand Island and 35 from Padre National Seashore. The mall nearby is fabulous and we enjoyed Port A.
