This is the best Econo Lodge I have ever stayed in, but not the best location.
This property is not in a good area. Although, It's hard to fault this particular hotel with that.
Everyone working at the hotel was extremely courteous. We had a few accommodations that were not what we had ordered, but the staff promptly resolved any issues. The building seems fairly new, and is in excellent condition.
The room was clean. The bathroom and vanity had both been updated and were quite nice. The rest of the room was what you would expect. The television had clear reception on all channels.
The breakfast area was super tidy. It opened on time. All food dispensers were clean, and in proper working order. The television was tuned to a national broadcast morning program.
Perhaps if more reputable business were willing to put-up shop there, this could eventually work it's way into being a nice part of town. Thumbs up to the owner of this particular property for making quite an effort to class-up the area.
Be warned, there are only two fast food drive thru choices nearby; both a few minutes away.
Regarding the location; to be fair, it is close to the Marina / USS Lexington / Aquarium. It takes literally a minute, or two, on the road (I-37) to the attractions at the bay. Although, If traveling with small children, this wouldn't be my first choice, but I certainly wouldn't overlook it.
Like I said at the beginning: This is the best Econo Lodge I have ever stayed in. If you need a clean, comfortable, quiet room that is close to downtown at a fair price; and you'll be spending most your time at business and/or attractions anyway. . .This is the place for you.
