“Great location, service and value”

I stay at many different type of hotels accross North America and grade High end hotels differently from regular hotels.

My car broke down in Corpus Christi and was towed to Nissan Dealership which is walking distance from the Days Inn.

I explained my situation to the manager and he gave me an outstanding rate. The best part was that the room/hotel was as good as the 3 plus star hotel I stayed in Downtown at half the price.

The bottom-line is that the hotel is very clean, quite, comfortable, and affordable.

  • Liked — Great Hot Breakfast with fantastic breakfast tacos!
  • Disliked — N/A
  • Tips/Secrets — This hotel is very close to downtown and north padre island attractions

“Worst hotel experience ever!!!”

My family and I checked into our motel room, only to find wet carpet and furniture, dirty sheets and an exceptional amount of black mold on the ceiling, walls and upholstery. The mold activity in the room had us fearing for our health, and we checked out immediately after we arrived. In addition, neither of the telephones in the room worked, and we were given a double bed, not the king we were told to expect. We were able to find another hotel just down the street that was not only cleaner, but offered lower rates (Comfort Suites). I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

  • Disliked — Extreme mold in room

“Okay”

I stayed here on a 3 night business trip. It was okay.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was unbeatable...eggs,pancakes,muffins,sausage,etc...Location is close to lots of restaurants & beach (but everything is close in corpus christi) My room/sheets/bathroom were all clean. Pool area was nice and it was quiet while I was there.

Cons: Outside lock did not seem very secure on room. Carpet sticky. Not all cable channels working. Walls were a little thin, but it wasn't loud there after 10 or so. And the surrounding neighborhoods weren't too great.

If I had to go back to Corpus for business I would probably stay at another comparable motel instead of this one.

“What an experience”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 March 2006

I booked the room online, one of those deals that if you pay now you'll get this really attractive low price, but you can't cancel. So if you can't make the trip you pay anyway. Well, we arrived a day early, I called ahead to see if I could check in; they had a room available so we went ahead and checked in... the after-midnight clerk spoke no English and I didn't speak his native tongue (Pakistan or India dialect). Needless to say it went down hill from there... we were placed in a non-smoking room (reaked of tobacco)on the 4th floor. When we finally made it to our room the door between the rooms was open. Luckily no one was in the other room, so we closed the door and tried to lock it... lock was broken. We pried a chair under the knob so it would be difficult to open. Then the front door lock was difficult to set... after some time we figured it out.
Went to take a shower, nothing but 2 hand towels... toilet didn't have enough water pressure to flush... showered anyway, drip dried, went to bed, pillowcases looked dingy.
The next morning I went to the front desk for my meal card and the clerk (Belinda) said she had some questions about my check-in, she said I was double booked... she was very pleasant, spoke English, and very helpful. If everything in the place had been as pleasant as she was I would consider going back...
However, the breakfast was great!!!
We did get some towels, but the toilet never flushed correctly. I seriously doubt I will ever stay there again!!!

“Very Bad!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 February 2006

First of all, we were coming to the Day's Inn because the Clarion we had stayed at was so bad. The girl at the front desk was RUDE and testy. The lobby and little breakfast place looked nice, clean and updated. That was the ONLY part of this place that was! The bedding and pillows had seen better days. Found a 2 inch critter in the bathroom. When I got in the shower I discovered that the rubber mat glued to the bottom of the tub was to cover the large hole in the tub. I'd say around 6-7 inch diameter. It was startling when you first put your weight on it because it was so unexpected so definately a safety concern. Water did not stay at one temp., breakfast was marginal at best-if you like beans and tortillas for breakfast. Spend a little more ($10)a night and stay at the Comfort Suites on S. Padre Island Drive. It is much nicer, quieter and friendly!!!
