My 10 y/o son and I spent 2 nights in Peacock Perch. I believe one reviewer mentioned the rooms are small - it's a treehouse for goodness sake of course they are. We loved it! Our room was clean and comfortable. We stayed in March and it was cold outside but we stayed nice and cozy warm.
The location is easy to find as long as you can read and follow directions. I didn't have a problem at all finding it and I'm usually the type to get lost.
Some treehouses have a bathroom. Ours did not but it was a short walk to the "central amenitrees" where there were two bathrooms and a shower. Additionally, in the main cabin/office/kitchen area there is a bathroom.
Breakfast was included. Yum! Eggs, Frittata, Waffles one day, French Toast another, Fruit, Muffins and coffee and orange juice a plenty. For lunch and dinner you can drive 10/15 minutes into town or you can bring groceries and cook. They have several bbq's, a microwave, pots, pans and utensils. They even have Hot Dog/Marshmallow Sticks for roasting hot dogs over the fire and/or making smores.
My son was thrilled to be able to help feed and brush the horses. We went on a lovely trail ride - the scenery really is breathtaking. They have a "Tarzan Swing".. you are pulled 50 feet up into the air and dropped while attached to a swing and Ziplines. AMAZING. They really made us feel safe.. well as safe as you can feel 70 feet in the air.
They have other activities as well, such as Tie-Dye, Mosaic Art, trails to walk and explore, rope swings and smaller platforms and things to climb in the trees.
Everyone was extremly friendly and seemed to go out of their way to make it a fun experience. This is truly a place where kids can play, climb, get dirty and learn about the outdoors. Like the title says.. good old fashion fun with a dose of adventure.
