I stayed here a few years ago and swore I'd never stay here again. Unfortunately, it was a busy weekend in the area and I had no choice. They apparently had a remodel, which didn't quite take.
The room I stayed in was clean and decently apportioned. As a loyal Hilton Diamond member I found it was no better or worse than most others. The big problem at this property? Noise. If you want a quiet night's sleep, sleep in your car. Part of the problem is the slamming of doors, one of my biggest hotel pet-peeves. I can't control what other guests do, but it appears to be hotel policy that the housekeepers slam the doors as many times as possible within a short period of time. Maybe it's a contest. They should know better.
One can literally hear every noise from the room upstairs, the rooms on either side, the massive gap between the floor and the door, the highway noise, and the anituquated air system. To make the room comfortable, because of the inadequate air system, I had to open the patio door, but the highway noise was unbearable. I was unable to move because they were sold out. I usually use the air system to create white-noise to drown out the rest of the noise, but because it was so poor, I had no choice but to suck it up.
The front desk staff, in my experience, were friendly and helpful as were the bar servers. The food was what I expected from an airport hotel; average. Filled the belly though.
I'm afraid this property is fighting a losing battle. Brand new hotels are going up just down the street. While I am a loyal Hilton customer, this property will definitely be on my "absolute last resort" list.
Room Tip: Sorry. Hilton, but my advice to others is to stay somewhere else.

We can completely understand how the issues you described would cause your experience to be less then positive. However in the mean time is there anything we can do as a gesture to show we sincerely care about you as a guest. Please contact me directly at 801-578-4498 or rhogan@hiltonslc.com so that I can personally assist you.
