+'s: best of both worlds---while old {1910 they told me} the hotel has obviously been recently renovated and as a result, historic charm is intact while modern amentities abound... great oval shower with fine water pressure/showerhead;plenty of tv channels {100+!}....the mattress with the memory foam was wonderful!...tasty complimentary coffee in the lobby that isn't the usual swill found in typical hotel lobbies....Best of all was the location ---there is a huge mall nearby{the Gateway} and we found several food places that were real treasures within easy walking distance {Squatters Microbrewery was fun, Market Street Grill has a great breakfasts, Carlucci's Bakery {try the pizzelles!}, and Bruges {must try the deliciously doughy Belgium waffles}
-'s: when we wanted soft drinks, we could not find a drink machine anywhere within---only water and the aforementioned coffee {this was more of an irritation than a serious negative};
being an older hotel {1910, they told me} the rooms are slightly smaller than average but not disconcertingly so...; I wished they would have had a free breakfast but this seems to be the type of perk found with many of the business-oriented hotel chains...Finally, having to pay for parking was disappointing though typical for a downtown hotel. We opted for the large paid lot adjacent to the hotel which offered 1/2 day and full day options for $5 and $10 respectively.
