“An absolutley wonderful night!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

We were int he February room. It was wonderful. Very clean and lots of character. It was a bit old, and out of date, but that added to the character. Breakfast was wonderful. So nice to be able to relax and enjoy our selves in such a peaceful setting. Excellent service as well! They took great care of us and even accommodated us at 10 o'clock at night. I would definitely stay here again!

“nice place for a nice price!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 December 2011

We were able to get a deal through Groupon for only $79 for a one night stay. Good deal! We stayed in the July room. The room was cozy and decorated in of course a very festive July American feel. Blue, Red and White! The tub is nice and large and has jets! And the toilet and sink are in a "closet" or at least what I'm pretty sure used to be a closet. There is also a dvd player and small flat screen tv, and a collection of dvds in the lobby to choose from. The breakfast in the morning was delightful with quiche, homemade granola, yogurt, fruit, muffins, milk, apple & orange juice. Very delicious.

Overall I think the place was very nice for a nice price!

Room Tip: July Glory had everything we needed!

“Charming B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2011

Stayed in the August room this week and loved it. The historic home is beautiful and the furniture lovely. The decor is a bit cheesy (fake plants, etc.) and overdone but still pretty. The owner is a charming woman and her breakfast was delicious (not gourmet but super-tasty)! Free dvd rentals, jaccuzzi tubs, and the ambiance are what you are paying for. The location is convenient to all of downtown as well. Rooms are still a bit overpriced in my book. Walls are thin (as in any old house) so romantic couples have to keep the noise down. Bed was firm, pillows were good with both full and thin options. Our room has a hidden staircase that leads up to a second room with a jetted tub and romantic table for two. My only complaint was that the tv was not at the foot of the bed so there was no way to get really comfortable while watching a show (it was the same in most of the rooms because of space). Stayed on a weeknight so we got to look into several unoccupied rooms. Would love to stay in the February and March rooms sometime.

Room Tip: Avoid the April room - cheesy wallpaper, weird overhang above bed and tv in an odd position make thi...

“We love this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

My Wife and I have been to the Armstrong Mansion many times. It is a beautiful old mansion, especially during Christmas time. It has a charm to it that you will not see at many other hotels or bed and breakfasts. We have stayed in many of the rooms and will admit that we like some more than others. But each room is well kept and nicely decorated.
One review said the hotel was not clean. I have seen it being cleaned many times after I have checked out and even before. So this should not worry you.
The breakfast is always fresh and neatly organized, and the staff if friendly and helpful, and has no problem with you looking around the house as long as you do not bother the other customers.
Some rooms during holidays and weekends are difficult to get into. But these are usually the more popular ones. So it is always good to check online or call to see if the room you want is Available.
I always love the Armstrong Mansion and highly recommend it for a nice little getaway.

Room Tip: May is a great size room with one of the best tubs in the home. February and August both have great...

“Christmas Enchantment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2011

I stayed at the Armstrong Mansion for three days and enjoyed it immensely. The house was decorated beautifully for Christmas and it made you feel as if you had gone back in time to the days when Christmas was about hearth and home. Beautiful woodwork with garlands and trees that twinkled with red ribbon and shiny ornaments. The breakfast at the Mansion is an event and Mark the owner is great to chat with. Barb who works there treated me like family and everything was so cozy I hated to leave but alas I had to go home. I stayed in January Promises a great room with a great fluffy bed and pillows. I would stay here again but if you are looking for business facilities this is more of a home atmosphere romantic and cozy.I highly reccommend this B and B to anyone who wants a getaway.

Room Tip: Be specific about what you are looking for such as tub or sitting room etc.
